HYDE & REHMAN'S Week Commencing January 26th, 1903 BROTHERS FARNUM Acrobatic Comedians. Very fair opening act; are clever in their line of work but as usual with this style of performance, they weed in too much comedy that is poor stuff. Open with full stage, close in one; time 16 minutes. YANKEE COMEDY FOUR Combined, they put up a laugh producing act, which goes very well. Are good singers also. A notable feature is the make-up of one of their number in imitation of Bob Fitzsimmons, which makes a hit at once. Close in one, opening with full stage. Time [12?] minutes. ELIZABETH MURRAY Monologist and Singer. Has some new stories, which she tells well, although her singing part is not a feature of noteworthy mention; act makes good however. Works in one; time 13 minutes. VALERIE BERGERE & CO. "Billie's First Love". Without question, the best sketch of the season, admirably played by Miss Bergere, with able assistance on the part of Mr. Johnson and Miss Stoddard. The stori is interesting and gives ample away to the artist's marked versatility of power and expression. Has made a great hit here. Miss Bergere's stage appearance is a most striking one, and the comedy and pathos in the lines are evenly merged together to form a most pleasing portrayal of Bohemian life Full stage; Time 32 minutes. LOUIS WESLEY Comedian and Dancer. Is a good dancer, but his monologue does not amount to much, and the voice he uses in singing sounds as though it belonged to someone else a good ways off. It's safe to say his singing could not be heard in the balcony. Works in one; time 12 minutes. GRAPEWIN & CHANCE "Awakening of Pipp". Same act, which is always a consummate hit at this house. Has interwoven a little new business which perhaps is an improvement, but as it stands, the act is a ten strike of vaudeville ingenuity and artistic ability. Full stage. Time 26 minutes. CONROY & McDONALD Street talking act in one. The dialogue is old and very silly, but makes good in its extreme absurdity. Time 13 minutes THREE SISTERS MACARTE Sensational Wire Act. One os the best of its class ever played here. They might cut the musical and dancing part out with advantage, but certainly their hanging wire act is worthy og highest commendation and has made a decided hit here. Henry W. Rehman MAY MORRIS- [?] went big. 3 a day-9 min. MILDRED HOWARD DEXIRAY-showed her pretty feet-a very pretty act-but the gallery was noisy and threw things-went finaly-8 min. CHERRY & BATES-two men with bicycles-fine set and the comedian was funny-went big-18 min. FRANK & IDA WILLIAMS, black face act-singing and dancing-a good set, but went poorly, 10 min. BAKER & LYNN-man and woman in a comedy-went big-18 min. J. BERNARD DYLLIN-sang songs-rather overdid all he did but went big-12 min. THE PANTZER TRIO-contortionists-man and 2 women-an immense act-went big-13 min. PRESS ELDREDGE-monologue and songs, went big-13 min. GENARO & BAILEY- man and woman-singers, dancers and talkers-were the hits of the bill- elegant gowns the woman wore-went immense- 23 min. JAMES RICHMOND GLENROY-same old act-without the epitaphs-went finely- 17 min. BURLESQUE went on at 5 P.M. and ran one hour and forty minutes.
