[Type is very feint] Ed. [Forster?] [& dog? ] 15 mins- [?]. In 2-Man and a black and tan dog. If the dog worked well, he has some amusing tricks. To-day, he insisted on doing just as he pleased, and therefore he didn't work well. Campbell & Caulfield-15 mins. in one-Two Man, in Irish street conversation. There was one good joke in the fifteen minutes they were on; and the talk is rough, and not suited to this house Harry Brown-10 mins. in one-Coon singer; close second to Ernest Hogan. Brown acts his songs as well as sings them. Good act. Beeson, Ferguson & Beeson-15 mins.-Landscape in 4-close in one-Two men and a woman, in a singing, dancing and comedy sketch,in which they use a dummy to good advantage in the comedy. The act resembles the afterpiece of a burlesque show. Got a great many laughs to-day,and can be classed as good. Yankee Comedy Four-20 mins.-Kitchen in 2-close in one-Four men,had a new opening for their act-a hotel office--in which they use the old barber-shop signs to advantage The act introduces "Bob Fitzsimmons." The singing is better than the comedy. They close with the "Hiawatha" song in costume, and,of course, made a hit. This is the first act that has been bright enough to take advantage of this Indian song and in an appropriate way. They are good singers. Louis Granat-10 mins. in one-whistler,good to fill in anywhere most any time. Wood & Ray-15 mins.-C.D.F. in 3-Man and woman, in a comedy sketch. Man is a very good comedian, and the woman is not at all bad. They have a good laughing act, and they get the laughs. Kitty Wolfe-10 mins. in one-Character singer. We were somewhat disappointed in this artiste. She just about made good, and that was all, and we had figured on her being one of the "strong" ones on the bill. Craig & Ardelle-18 mins.-C.D.F. in 3-close in one-Two on, in a musical comedy act. The Dutch comedian is very good. They play good music and offer good comedy. Good act. Rene & Richards-20 mins.-Gar. in 4-close in one-Two man, in an acrobatic comedy act. Rene, in his grotesque make-up, is going backward fast. His comedy to-day was something simply fearful to behold. Richards did all the work in the straight acrobatic line. They always close strong with the fat man, and get a barrel of laughs. IF it wasn't for the finish, the act would fall flat. Lillian Burkhart & Co - 30 mins.-Yellow Fancy in 3-In a sketch called "A Strenuous Daisy," assisted by two men and one woman. The "Old man" is a frost. He chews his words and his acting is bad. The young boy she has with her never was good. Something might be done with the sketch with a different company, but as it stands now, it's without a question of doubt the worst thing she has ever put on. The audience gave her a good hand, but it was for her alone. She is well known here, and is always sure of some sort of a reception. Nat M. Wills-15 mins. in one-Without a question of doubt the hit of the show, as we expected. He responded to the seven curtain calls. His new parody on "Tell me Pretty Maiden" is a whole show in itself. It was the unanimous opinion of everyone in the press box that it was the best parody they had ever heard anywhere at any time. It simply elicited screams of laughter. [end of page 1] [start of page 2] 2. Polk & Tresh-12 mins.-car. in 3-Two men, European acrobat. They appear in frock coats, high hats and canes, and go through the same nonsensesical manoeuvres that all these European artists seem to think necessary to open their act. These men are hand and head balancers, and are probably no better and no worse than many other similar acts. However they cannot touch the Bros. Freydo at any stage of the game. Vitagraph-20 mins. in one-A pretty good selection of views, with Cindrella for the children. One exceptionally good one is the scene on the fishing smack. There are no great big acts in the show with the exception of Wills. Therefore, the "smaller" acts are no so greatly harmed by comparison. With a very strong bill, the "small" part of the show would appear very weak, but with only Nat Wills standing out , it passes inspection as a good bill. In comparison with some big bills we have had, the show would be called a poor one. H. A. DANIELS.
