289 ]TEMPLE THEATER, DETROIT, MICH. Week Beginning June 8th. Burt Hodgkins and Grace Leith Presenting the one-act comedy entitled "Courtin' in '61." These people are clever character artists and, notwithstanding that they have a poor place on the bill, they are going well. 15 minutes in 3. Lew Wren: Whistling soloist and imitator. In the whistling line he is is way ahead of all competitors. He is making a big hit in this house. 10 minutes in 1. The O'Rourke and Burnette Trio:: Composed of a man, a woman and a boy. The two former are capital artists and the boy is a star both as a singer and a dancer. The act is going immensely. 10 minutes in 2 and 6 minutes in 1. Winchell Smith & Co.: Two men and a woman, presenting the sketch entitled "A Friend in Need." It is very funny and played in a finished style. It is causing a cyclone of laughter. 17 minutes in 3. Marion Little field: Contralto. This woman has an excellent voice and a modest appearance, points that never fail to win. 12 minutes in 1. McMahon's Watermelon Girls:: Composed of eight women and two men They are all good dancers an singers and work exceedingly well together. Several changes of costume are made and all the scenery that is used in the act is carried for the production. The turn is a splendid one and worthy of being the feature of any bill/ 11 minutes full stage. Joe Flynn: Monologist and parodist. This performer is too well-known to require any extended comment suffice it to say that his was never in better form. He is going big. 18 minutes in 1. The Three Polos: Novelty gymnasts. The act is well dressed, is finished and a winner in every sense. 7 minutes full stage. The American Biograph.
