311 (2) YRR-2-HARRY DAVENPORT:- This is the gentleman who took the place of Dan Daly in "The Liberty Belles". He is one of the original family of Davenports, so well known to the theatre-going public, and he has an act which is rather peculiar in its way, however, I feel absolutely certain it will go very strong with a night audience. It doesn't appeal especially to the small quiet audience that we usually have at matinees, but it is very artistic, and I have an idea that in the evening he is going to be very strong. He does a song at first which gives a chance to introduce a topical verse in an effective manner, and closes with a song which is supposed to be sung by a clergyman, giving a description of the happenings at a church bizarr, and which I think, is very clever indeed. 14 minutes, in one. YHR-2-TOM NAWN & CO:- in "Pat and the Genii". Same act that he has done here several times, but it went fully as well this afternoon as ever. 28 minutes; full stage. YRR-2-FIELDS & WARD:- Two men in a comedy talking act, which hardly shows a variation in any way excepting one song, from what they have been doing in the house for several years, but it in a different place in the bill they certainly made good to the fullest extent. 21 minutes, in one. GHR-2-MARLO & ALDO:- Horizontal bar set, and a very good one, both men being exceptionally good gymnasts, and do all the stunts known to the ordinary bar performers. 9 minutes; full stage. HR-3-BIOGRAPH:--- The selection of views this week is very good indeed, and held the attention of the audience closely to the finish. REMARKS:- It was a very hot afternoon and the audience was very dead, and I don't feel that we were able to get a thoroughly correct idea of the show. I am satisfied, however, that it will be a good average bill as soon as the night audience can get at it. S. K. HODGSON.
