323 NEW YORK SHOW, WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 7th, 1903. GRR 3--COTURE & GILLETT.--This is an acrobatic and comedy act, one of the men making up as a gold player and the other one as a farmer. Both of them are exceptionally clever acrobats. The act is fully equal to that of the old turn of Coture & Devoe, whom we have already played over the circuit two or three times. 9 minutes, full stage. GRR 3--LEW SIMMONS & FRANK WHITE.--In an old negro act which introduces the ancient black faced sketch, "A Qiet Night's Rest," with the rats, etc. It went quite strong this afternoon, although I think it is not quire as good an act as their old one. 22 minutes, full stage. NH 3--NICE TWINS.--A young boy and a girl in a singing act. Both of them are neat dressers and pretty good singers, and close their act with a little dancing which sends them off all right. 11 minutes in one. GNH 2--THREE RICHARDS.--Three men in a very strong acrobatic act. They have been over the circit before and the act is pretty well known, but they are doing several new tricks this time which makes the turn an exceptionally clever one. 8 minutes, full stage. HR.-3--CORA KILIANI.--A girl who does a fairly good turn of songs. All right in a small place on the bill. 11 minutes in one. YYH 2--HOLDIN'S MANNIKINS.--Third week of this attraction and they went very strong as before. It can hardly fairl to make a big hit in the houses all over the circuit. 23 minutes, full stage. NR 3--BRANDON & WILEY.--A colored man and woman in a lively singing and dancing act. The man is beyond question the liveliest fellow of his race that I have ever seen. He does a lot of acrobatic dancing and somentirely original feats in the gymnastic line. The woman is clever and the whole act made a big hit. 17 minutes in one. YRR.--2--ALBANOS TROUPE.--Four girls and one man in a musical act. It is rather a pretty act, but lacks a great deal of being as strong as the Willis family who opened in Philadelphia today. It is, however, a pleasing turn and [as?] they are new faces they cannot help being appreciated. 16 minutes, open full stage and close in one. GHR 2--MR. & MRS. GARDNER CRANE.-- A man and a woman in a comedy sketch entitled "Who is Your Wife?", which is founded on the familiar motif of mistaken identity, but tells a story which is entirely different from anything I have ever seen. They are both legitimate actors and make good to the fullest extent. The audience laughed heartily at nearly every situation and gave them three or four curtain calls at the finish. 30 minutes, full stage. NH 3--ED GRAY.-- Story teller and parody singer. About the same sort of act that he has been doing for the last year or two and which always goes well in this house. 20 minutes in one. MHR. 2--NIRVANA and her thoroughbred trained stallion in a series of tableaus that are about all reproductions of well known paintings. The horse is really a beautiful animal and the posing required is really extraordinary. The woman is quite pretty and of fairly good form, and, while the act did not call for a great amount of applause during its presentation, it got a tremendous hand at its close, and I think will be an exceedingly attractive novelty for the circuit. The scenery used is just a little bit worn and shabby, and the act is not presented quite as well as it might be. However, I am inclined to think that it is a turn which will be more thoroughly appreciated by the evening audience than that of the afternoon. 12 minutes, full stage. markable and hold the attention of the audience so closely that there is but very little applause until the finish, when it received a hearty hand. Some of the mechanical work, which is supposed to take place at the bottom of the sea, is really very clever, and taken all in all it is about the best biograph exhibit that we have had for a long time. S. K. HODGDON.
