340 KEITH'S BIJOU WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 7TH, CRITICISM STEREOPTICON: Usual selection of views; held them well for 12 minutes; HOLDSWORTHS: Young man and woman; singing, dancing and banjo playing; both have youth, rather neat in their dress, fairly good vaudeville voices, and do their work in a convincing manner; seem to please this audience very well. Garden in 2, close in one. A. R. 3 shows. JAMEX WEITZEL: S. E. 3 shows. Young man in Indian club juggling and hoop rolling, both of which he does pretty well; thoroughly all right in his place on the bill; did ten minutes and interested the audience all the time he was on. TANNER & GILBERT: N. H. 3. Young man and woman; rube kid and soubrette; specialty sketch in which both sing fairly well from a vaudeville standpoint; Tanner's comedy a little bit shy, but he landed all right with this audience; good three a day; full stage, landscape, cottage, etc; close in 1/ OSTRADO: 3 shows; muscle work on trapeze and pedestal; well known on the circuit; good value for a three a day act. ALTHEA TWINS: Two girls in songs, dances and actrobatic stunts: these girls seem to have picked up some in the matter of wardrobe; their work went all right in this house. RICE FAMILY: S. R. 3; act is worth that and a little more; consists of two very young girls and a boy - violinists - make a hit with the feminine portion of the audience particularly; the girls are winsome little things, and while their playing may not be up to symphony qualities, it serves all vaudeville purposes. C. D. Fancy. Could close in but do not need it here. Would advise booking this act in any house where children are permitted to play upon the stage. DOLLY JORDAN: Contralto vocalist: appears to be all right as a vocalist but does not seem to hit this audience as I thought she ought to. A. R. 3/ Went good supper and night shows. WOOD & RAY: Man and woman; man eccentric makeup, with good line of gags: Wood's declamation, in which he mentions all the well known plays in a string, caught the audience here; the act went well and pleased the audience immensely; they did 25 minutes and 6 or 7 in one. JOHNSON & WELLS: Man and woman; real coon; very well dressed act of songs and dances; very satisfactory in singing and dancing, especially the latter; practically the hit of the show. N.H.3 look smooth EVERTHING BETTER AT NIGHT HOUSE. P. F. NASH
