Hudson Theatre, Union Hill, N.J. John C. Peebles. Week of February 27, 1911. I have never had a show that created as little enthusiasm at a Monday matinee at this one. The audience seemed absolutely frozen up and it was very difficult to get them to warm up. At night the show played much better and seemed to please the audience though it can hardly be considered up to the Union Hill standard. There is too much confliction and the show lacks comedy. Romalo & Delano. Garden, [illegible]F.S. 15 M. Equilibrists. These two men have a very good routine of tricks but they lack showmanship in their work. Two of their feats are positively hair-raising. With a little improvement in their routine this team will turn out to be an excellent opening act. Don Ramsay's Harmonists. in "Kancelled." [Illegible] drop in 2, 21 Close in 1,3 min. M. This act consists of three men, two of whom have been cancelledaat a small-town theatre for trying to make the manager believe that two men and a trunk constituted a trio.On their way to the depot they run across a young "rubo" who turns out to be the baritone in the village choir. He is pressed into service and joins the trio. The comedy in the act fails to land but the singing is excellent and takes the boys off to good applause.Act will do nicely on the small time in this spot.
