HUDSON THEATRE, UNION HILL, N.J. JOHN C. PEEBLES. Week of March 13, 1911. THREE LIVINGSTONS. Acrobatic comedy act. A very mediocre act. Not in the class with the Camillo Trio, Rice Sully & Scott or the 3 Ernests. Garden in 3. Time 6 min. JOSH DALE, "The Alabama Kid." A pleasing blackface comedian that started rather slowly but got the house with his stories. His violin playing and dance at the finish took him off to good applause. Street in 1. Time 14 min. KEAR, TURNER & SEVERENA. in "Liebestraume." A rather classy musical act, the feature of which is Mr. Kear's piano selections. Dialogue rather light and somewhat slow. Act needs the services of a stage manager for a few days. Even in its present shape it is a most pleasing offering and went well today. Divided set in 3. Time 23 min. CREIGHTON BROTHERS. "Relics of '67." Two very good "rube" comedians who were one of the hits of the show. Some of their material is a little old but they landed it in good shape while their dancing finish was strong and took them off to big applause. Own drop in 1 and 1 1/2. Time 12 min. HARRY BERESFORD & CO., in "23 Mulberry Bend." This is the first time in the history of this house that the setting got a round of applause. It certainly is a novel set and one which will cause talk. The act itself I consider one of the best comedies of city life I have ever seen in vaudeville and I believe the act will prove a sure-fire hit anywhere. Mr. Beresford gives a splendid performance of the old army officer who has been evicted for non-payment of rent. Patty Allison, who plays the waif, was excellent while Lou Ripley as Mrs. Reardon and John E. Gilbert as Flannigan could not be improved upon. I believe this act will draw money to the house this week as it is novel in its conception and its comedy is amusing. Own set in 3. Time 18 min. THREE DOLCE SISTERS. Classy Singing Novelty. I was a little in doubt about these girls being able to hold this spot and had figured on placing them earlier in the bill. Not only were they the applause hit of the afternoon but they stopped the show and had to respond to half a dozen bows after the cards for the following act had been displayed. Olio in 1. Time 12 min. AVON COMEDY FOUR. "The New Teacher." Just a riot-that's all. Kitchen in 3. Close in 1, 12 min. Time 22 min.
