Report on PROVIDENCE SHOW, Week of March 13, 1911. Chas. Lovenberg, Manager. The show this week gave evident satisfaction and as a whole should be called a good bill, although it was a little bit slow in getting started. Some of the acts made genuine hits and others were somewhat disappointing. DeVELDE & ZELDA A little muscular and iron jaw work. An act that can only be called fair. Managed to get by in this spot. 8 Min. F. S. MORRISSEY SISTERS & BROS. Singing and dancing. Some of their dancing is good but the act in its entirety is not well put together and can only be classed as fair. 14 Min. in One. BARNES & CRAWFORD Well-known comedy vaudeville skit that pleased immensely, making the first real impression of the performance. 20 Min. F. S. Short close in One NONETTE Violiniste and singer. This is a return date for this young lady, whose success was so great on her previous engagement that it was deemed advisable to bring her back. Evidently no error was made in this regard for she again made a big hit. 14 Min. in One. The 3 ATHLETAS An act that is too well-known to require a description. They were a big hit and warranted in every way our taking the chance that we did, to make them the headliner. 12 Min. F. S. CHICK SALE Comedy protean act. Somewhat similar to Ray L. Royce. To my mind a better act and went much bigger than Royce did on his last engagement here. He has enough of the element of novelty to create comment and he may be said to have scored a success. 14 Min. in One. MARION GARSON & CO. In a little musical comedy called, "The Belle of Seville." There is not a great deal to the sketch itself, but the numbers were good, the music being particularly attractive and it is well sung, the act closing to generous applause. 22 Min. F. S. MACK & ORTH I think this act scored the strongest of any similar offering we have had in a long time. They have a decided novelty, the comedy talk is good and the songs are immense. Easily the hit of the show. 25 Min. in One. Louis SIMON & CO. In a revival of Will Cressy's old sketch, "A Man From Texas" now called "Wild Willie Wilkins." Somehow or other the act didn't prove to be the hilarity creator that it was years ago, although it went well. He is a little handicaped by his male support, altho I rather like the woman that is working with him. With a little faster playing, I think it will work out all right. Of course, he is in a particularly hard spot, closing the show, but he went sufficiently well to warrant retaining the position, especially as it meant a great deal to the rest of the bill. 20 Min. F. S. MOTION PICTURES O. K.
