C. E. BARNS. PHILADELPHIA SHOW. MARCH 13, 1911. B. FRANK HOVEN. 19 min. in one. Rightly belongs further down the bill. Keeps up a running fire of crazy talk while doing some amusing tricks. The finish with the two boys is very funny and won laughter and applause at the close. WILLIAMS & SEGAL. 8 min. in one. A good dancing act, both man and woman being expert and giving some new steps. Well dressed and altogether all right for an early spot. SCOTT & KEANE. "Drifting." 16 min. F. S. This is a very pretty little love sketch which held the interest of the audience satisfactorily. The stage setting representing an orchard in bloom, is very effective and lends a poetic charm to the sketch. Closed well. PRIMROSE FOUR. 16 min. in one. Duplicated their former success, each one of their selections getting strong applause. Whether in solo or quartette, they sing entertainingly and introduce a little comedy. Compelled to give an encore and closed strong. TASMANIAN VAN DIEMAN TROUPE. 8 min. F. S. Same act as presented here some months ago and quite as much of a success. The girls are pretty and well costumed, and the act is showman-like in every particular. Good applause and finished well. BELLE BLANCHE. 19 min. in one. Miss Blanche is improving every day and is a mighty clever imitator and vocaliste. Her material is new this time, and all of it went very well indeed. Received good advance applause. Every one of her numbers was well received. Closed strong. FRANK KEENAN &N CO. "Man to Man." 24 min. F.S. An intensely dramatic drama presented in a most brilliant and convincing manner. Has been described from New York and the high recommendations were fully justified. Held the audience in profound silence throughout with occasional applause after some popular sentiment, bringing the act up to a very strong finish. Both Keenan and Cummings received a good advance hand, Mr. Cummings being a Stock favorite here. Closed to enthusiastic applause and several curtain calls. FRED DUPREZ. 17 min. in one. A good line of talk, well delivered, getting a good many laughs and occasional applause. Held this difficult spot in good shape and closed strong. BRADNA & DERRICK. 9 min.F. S. A beautiful and thoroughly showman-like act, making an excellent closer. Abundant applause. KINETOGRAPH. "Wild Sea Birds in their Famous Haunts." One of thr most beautiful films we have ever had and the Photoplane brings out the colors with great brilliancy. GEN. REM. The show played off very well today, but owing to two disappointments lacked the comedy that it had when originally booked. On Saturday, Conroy & Le Maire cancelled and their place was filled by the Primrose Four, which, while it went exceptionally well is not primarily a comedy act. Lou Anger was taken sick on Sunday and his place was filled by Duprez. Anger is a local boy and had many friends in this afternoon who were very much disappointed. The show is very pleasing, however, and topped by such a good name as Keenan ought to do good business.
