REPORT ON COLONIAL, LAWRENCE, WEEK OF APRIL 3, 1911. John F. Adams, Critic. Pollard - comedy juggler. Made a very good opening act. [12?] min. full stage. Dagwell Sisters - historical cycle of songs, [???]. 13 min. in one. Williams and Warner - French comedy Musical Artists, went very good. 14 min. full stage, close in one, 2 min. Mysterious Moore - comedy mystifier. A few card tricks and closing with trunk mystery trick which excites commendable comet. Mr. Moore is doing his entire act in one and is getting by with it fine. Act went very well. 22 min. Valerie Bergere - presenting “His Japanese Wife” second time here this season and going better than first, a big favorite with us. [??] min. full stage. Goodrich Murray and Gillen - Those boys around the Piano. A very good singing and piano act.and going big. 18 min. in one. Pederson Bros. - closed show fine. 7 min. full stage. Motion Pictures.- O. K. BOSTON SHOW - WEEK - APRIL - 3 - 1911. R. G. Larsen. (Monday night.) TUSCANO BROTHERS. 8 minutes f.s. special drop. An A 1 opening act with plenty of novelty and some good juggling that went big. ELIDA MORRIS. 12 minutes in one. A rather neat act that went very good in this spot. 3 KEATONS. 21 minutes f.s. close in one. About the same act that they have given us before, and as big as ever they went in this house. CONROY & LEMAIRE. 19 minutes in one. Not by any means as big a hit as they are in New York, but filled the spot acceptably. "THE SON OF SOLOMON." 35 minutes f.s. special set. This is one of the best acts of the kind we have played, and Herbert is certainly a splendid character actor, but I am afraid a Boston audience does not get the full appreciation of this kind of sketch. This afternoon it ran 38 minutes, and we had him cut out the anti-climax, finishing the story as it really should. As a result, to-night it got four or five curtains while this afternoon they went off with hardly a hand. AUGUSTA GLOSE. 19 minutes in one. Doing pretty much the same line of work and meeting with as much favor as ever. THE FOUR FORDS. 20 minutes f.s. special drops with short close in one. About the prettiest act they have ever put on and went very big here at both performances. THE MCGREEVEYS. 14 minutes in one. This is a particularly hard spot for an act of this kind, but they held it in very good shape at both performances. AL RAYNOS DOGS. 10 minutes f.s. A ripping good closing act that finished a great bill. CUTS. "The Son of Solomon" - "Hell." 3 Keatons - reference to "A P A." Jack McGreevey. - story about peeking thru keyhole.
