Report of PROVIDENCE SHOW, Week of April 3, 1911.

The bill played very well as a whole, altho it let down a little bit in spots. Some of the acts from which I had expected a great deal, did not quite live up to all that has been said of them. 
SHRINER & WILLS Two young fellows in a singing and piano act. Have some new stuff and they delivered it fairly well. Fairly all right for an early spot. 14 Min. in One.
THE ESPOSITOS In a scene from "Cavalleria Rusticana" and an Italian song for an encore. Went very well. 18 Min. Open with special drop in Two. Close in One.
BERT FITZGIBBON In the sort of stuff that he has been doing for years, about half of which is new. Came pretty near being a riot. 16 Min. in One.
Frank MILTON & DeLONG SISTERS These people have some very good material and Milton, himself, is very good. The two girls are at best only fair and in the softest kind of a spot, the act failed to make the big hit that it has in other cities, altho it went well. Could, by no means, have held a spot near the close of the program in this theatre. 17 Min. F.S. Short close in One. Went better at night.
DOLAN & LENHARR In a travesty sketch introducing some second sight work, called "Some Mind Reader." This act also proved a little disappointing as it dragged in spots. 23 Min. in Two. Short close in One. Went a little better at night.
OSCAR LORRAINE Protean violinist. Mr. Lorraine is a good violinist, but I am inclined to believe that he is so imbued with himself that his act is not as satisfactory to the audience as when we paid him about half as much money as he is getting today. The audience grew restless and he fared only moderately well. 16 Min. Open with special drop in Two, Close in One.
EDWARD ABELES & CO. In a comedy sketch, "He Tried To Be Nice." One of the best sketches we have ever played. Splendidly presented and the biggest kind of a hit. 21 Min. F.S.
Eddie LEONARD & Mabel RUSSELL Black-face singing and dancing act. Did very well indeed. 20 Min. in One. 
HICKEY'S COMEDY CIRCUS Ponies, unridable mule and revolving table, similar to Berzac's act. Berzac in his palmiest days never got as many laughs in his act as Hickey's Circus did today and there were never such funny falls done in the Berzac act as these people do in this one. I don't believe any house can make a mistake in playing this act. This is a much bigger act than it appears on the surface. They carry five people on the road and engage several in the town. There is considerable apparatus also. In every way it is a big expensive affair and should be given consideration. 16 Min. F.S.
