FIFTH AVENUE THEATRE REPORT OF WEEK --- MAY 22 1911 The show is practically as played last week with the exception of minor changes made by the different acts in substituting new songs and talk in places. TOM NAWN & CO Special 3 23 Mins Playing "Pat And The Genii" in place of "A Touch Of Nature". HAINES & VIDOCQ In 1 1/2 17 Mins Was substituted for "Rooney & Bent" and proved an agreeable change, Nat Haines getting many laughs with his impromptu talk. JAMES THORNTON In 1 18 Mins With his usual monologue and songs. Mr Thornton retired after the matinee at his own request, on account of trouble with his throat. AFTERPIECE C.D.F. The After piece was changed to "Sim Dipsey's Visit To Broadway"; another old time sketch about as old fashioned as last week's offering but equally funny, on account of its "out of dateness". The show suffered somewhat from the loss of Maggie Cline, who held up the latter end of the programme in great style last week. Mr Thornton's retirement was not any great embarrassment to the bill, as the show was sufficiently long without his act, and the vacancy caused by his retirement was not filled for the balance of the week. Robert E Irwin Music Hall Pawtucket R. I. 3 days May 25--26--27 Lee Calder & Co 2 men and a woman, comedy sketch, very ordinary. 12 minutes, went fairly well Gilmore and Castle 2 men, singing, talking and dancing, good lively act 12 minutes in one, went very good Hassan Ben Alis Arabs All week going big David R Buffinton
