BOSTON SHOW WEEK JUNE 12, 1911. (R. G. Larsen.) (Monday Night show.) OVERTURE. 20 minutes. Playing descriptive and popular music and making a most decided hit. DEVOIE TRIO. 9 minutes f.s. this is one of the best opening acts we have had in a long time, and notwithstanding the fact that we have had a number of very, very good openers recently. The work of these three men on the rings is full of applause getting features. GORDON & KIELEY. 10 minutes in one. Special drop. A very good acrobatic dancing act with some comedy. The only drawback is the girl's song. However, the finish is big. MERRILL & HILTON. 14 minutes f.s. special set. this is a little operetta called "The Maid of Cinnibar," with a rather elaborate stage setting. It got by at both performances here but the girls are hardly strong enough for the big time in the season. Their solo work is very good but in the duets they hardly get away with it. ARTHUR WHITELAW. 15 minutes in one. Whitelaw has a very good line of stuff and held this spot in good shape. LINTON & LAWRENCE. "The Piano Store." 19 minutes f.s. Doing pretty much the same act as formerly but with a rain effect that is really good. Got lots of laughs and finished strong. CHARLES & FANNY VAN. 15 minutes in one. Doing the old act and going as big as ever. GORDON BROTHERS' BOXING KANGAROO. 11 minutes f.s. This is a decided novelty for at last we seem to have a kangaroo that can really box. It worked like a veteran at both performances to-day and gave the best of satisfaction. EDDIE LEONARD. 17 minutes in one. Doing the same act and getting away with it in very good shape here. Although not making a tremendous hit like he does in New York. MARTINETTI & SYLVESTER. 10 minutes f.s. These are about the funniest pair of knockabout comedians we play, and made a great closing act. COMMENT. This worked out into a great summer show and gave thorough satisfaction all through the bill. Music Hall Pawtucket R. I. 3 days June 12--13--14 The Halkings Man and woman. Shadowgraphs, Mechanical Effects very good, fine act of its kind. 15 minutes, went very well Houston and Olmstead Man and woman, comedy sketch, good sketch, funny, 15 minutes went very well Rivoli Lightning Change ARtist, plays a sketch with seven characters in it, goes in pit at finish and leads orchestra, making several changes in the pit. clever, a strong act (better than Fitzgerald) special scenery 22 minutes WENT BIG. best act here this season David R Buffinton
