C. E. BARNS. PHILADELPHIA SHOW. JUNE 26, 1911. THE VAN DER KOORS. 8 min. F. S. A lively opener with lots of comical surprises with the ducks and chickens. A good summer number. A funny finish with the burlesque mind-reading duck. FARNUM & CLARK SISTERS. 16 min. in one. Better act than ever, full of ginger and originality. The Clark Sisters make a good appearance in two changes of costume. The patter is good and the songs also, and the finish when Farnum leaves the stage and walks up the aisle, is very amusing and got a big closing hand. GREAT HOWARD. 23 min. F.S., close in one. A very skilful ventriloquist, and although he handles but two dummy characters, the act is full of clever work, good comedy and is very well dressed and set. One of the best acts of the kind in the business. Frequent applause and the finish was very strong. JULIA FRARY. 10 min. in one. Miss Frary sang four songs, each one of which was well applauded. Miss Frary has a pleasing personality and a charming voice. The closing hand was big. MONTGOMERY & MOORE. 25 min. F.S., close in one. Advance applause. This is one of the liveliest acts that we have had in a long time. Their material is very much improved since their last engagement here, and it would be a very hard thing to find any two people in vaudeville who could match this pair for holding the interest of the audience stronger from start to finish. The piano work is immense and whether it is patter, songs or dances, it is all the same - it all goes with life and ginger. Could hold any spot with great credit and the close was immense. SIX AMERICAN DANCERS. 13 min. Act too well known to need any commendation except to say that they received a good advance hand and were heartily received all the way through. Act is better than it ever was which is another word for saying that it is the best of its kind in vaudeville today. Closed very strong. FRANK TINNEY. 25 min. in one. Advance applause. Tinney is evidently as much of a favorite as ever and scored his usual hit. Think he will do well for the balance of the week. His material is practically the same. Closed big. FOUR RIANOS. 18 min. F.S. The first part of this act has been entirely changed with the introduction of toe-dancing by a little girl. This has a tendency to slow the act up to such an extent that it loses its value as a closer. The latter part of the act is unchanged and went extremely well. Tonight, all but about a minute of dancing will be eliminated and think it will be just as good as ever. KINETOGRAPH. "The Abertheny Kids' Rescue." A very lively film, and particularly good considering the amount of publicity these little fellows have received. GEN. REM. This is a good summer show and will give entire satisfaction. The weather was favorable to us today, and the house was consequently good. Everybody seemed pleased with the bill and we ought to do the business, weather conditions permitting. CUT HOWARD. The use of the word "H---." Music Hall, Pawtucket June 22-23-24 Kelly & Mack - 2 men - Eccentric Knockabout Commedians - went good - 17 min in one [Allor?] & Barrington - Man and woman in The Doctor and the Lady - 18 min - went great. Six American Dancers - going good
