FIFTH AVENUE THEATRE REPORT OF SHOW --- WEEK-JULY 3rd) 1911 FANNY FONDELIER Gar. 3 8 Mins. Wire act. The ordinary little act which hardly belongs to larger houses, and does little out of the ordinary wire work. GILBERT LOSEE Olio in 1 11 Mins. This man has nice appearance and is well dressed. He has a remarkable freak voice with wide range. His selections vary from soprano through baritone and tenor to bass. This act should do remarkably well with a music loving audience, and would have undoubtedly been a good go here had there been any audience. WALSH, LYNCH & CO. Spec. Exterior. 20 Mins. "Huckin's Run". Rural sketch which is not bad although the production is rather shabby. SOPHIE TUCKER Dr. 1 12 Mins. Miss Tucker is another one of these rag time comediennes and probably the best of the lot. She has always been a big hit with me when there was any audience to play to, and would undoubtedly have been the same here this week. MARIE & BILLY HART C.D.F. Close in 1- 18 Mins. Man and woman. They do a little of everything from comedy wire walking, singing, dancing, burlesque mind reading and cornet playing. This act would undoubtedly do well with an audience. CYCLING ZANORAS. Gar. 4 10 Mins. Very good fast bicycling act. One straight man and comedian dressed as a sailor. As good as any two man bicycling act we have had. FRANK TINNEY Dr. 1 24 Mins. Black face comedian and bagpipe player. This man is a genuine comedian and very funny. His burlesque playing on bagpipes is one of his best bits and his style of telling a story a la Bert Fitzgibbon is irresistable. SIX AMERICAN DANCERS SPEC. 1 11 Mins. This act is too well known to need extended comment but suffices to say it is one of the best dancing acts in the business and made a good closing act for the 4th of July week with its patriotic music. KINETOGRAPH. Paul Revere's Ride. - A good patriotic picture for the 4th of July week. NOTE;- The programme was somewhat broken up this week by Maude Lambert's sudden illness and substitution of Sophie Tucker in her place. Gilbert Losee was also forced to retire on Monday by loss of voice and Luciana Lucia deputised for him, which did not help the bill, although with the small audience nothing would have made any difference, and nearly all the acts had a hard time getting one bow.
