C.E. BARNS PHILADELPHIA SHOW AUG 14, 1911 SISTERS IOLEEN 8 min F.S. Two very pretty and skilful girls who are certainly clever in their wire work and sharp shooting. Everyone of their feats got a good hand which they well deserved. Makes an excellent opener. LOUIS STONE 11 min 1-1/2 Opens with some wooden show dancing which is fairly novel and got a good hand. Proceeds to his eccentric dancing horizontally, head down etc, using a pedestal. The act is well dressed and is one of the kind never seen here before. Got a good hand all the way through and finished strong. CULLISON & VILLA CO "MIS-MATED" 17 min F.S. Farce comedy of a light and conventional order. Held the interest of the audience pretty well and closed with a big surprise finish. O.K. in this spot. Linden BECKWITH 19 min in one. Miss Beckwith is a favorite here and received advance applause. Makes a stunning appearance in three changes of costume and signs with fine dramatic effect. Each song was well applauded. Closed big. PARIS BY NIGHT 17 min Open in 2 closed F.S. Same act as presented here before with the exception of Mlle Corie instead of Mlle Minar. Was well received this afternoon and the dancing parts got a good hand. Spirited and artistic without any objectional features. Closed exceptionally well. WALTER AND GEORGIE LAWRENCE 17 min in one. Carry their own drop representing the exterior of the S.S. LUSITANIA. A mighty pretty sketch containing some bright lines ending with a melody of Irish Songs and a dance. Closed very strong. MILTON & DE LONG SISTERS. 8 min F.S. Closed in one. This is certainly one ripping comedy act. Kept the audience in roars of laughter all the way through - in fact the laughter and applause at times stopped the show. The De Long Sisters are beautiful girls, stunningly gowned and the comedy work of Milton is simply immense. This is one of the best acts of the kind we have ever played and closed with a perfect riot of applause The audience was loth to let them go, calling them out again and again. It will be an applause hit anywhere on any bill. TEMPLE QUARTETTE 14 min in one. These young men are great favorites here. Received advance applause. They had a good selection of songs and put them over in great shape. One of the best Male Quartettes in the business and will be popular anywhere. BROTHERS DARE 10 min F.S. Two fine looking Athletes who work on the red carpet doing many of the regulation ground tumbling stunts and some tricks which are new, all very skilful and finished. Received plenty of applause and closed well. KINETOGRAPH "IT SERVED HER RIGHT" Very good comedy with merit of being short. "SCENES IN VOLLEDAM HOLLAND" One of the best travel films we have had in a long time. GENERAL REMARKS This is a corking good show for either summer or winter and is of special value to us at this time as all the acts are pratically new to our audience. The only two they are acquainted with are Linden Beckwith and the Temple Quartette. On account of the tremendous hit made by Milton and De Long Sisters, they have been moved down next to closing giving us a close in one to set for the Brothers Dare. CUTS CULLISON & VILLA CO. Expression "DEVIL" also squirting Champaygne into face. Music Hall Pawtucket R.I. 3 days August 7--8--9 Bachelor Club Quartette, talking did not go, singing went big, 20 minutes, went off with big hand Franklin & Banvard Man and woman, good comedy, singing and dancing 15 minutes, went very good High Life in Jail 6 men convicts dress, special scenery, comedy fair, singing good, 22 minutes, conflicts with Bachelor Club but went big
