C. E. BARNS. PHILADELPHIA SHOW. SEPT. 4, 1911. BERTISCH. 9 min. F. S. A very fine appearing chap who combines good looks with a phenomenal physical development. Uses the various "strong man" paraphernalia and performs many difficult feats some of which are quite new. Received good applause. Makes an acceptable opener. Big hand at the finish. McGINNIS BROS. 14 min. in one. These boys are expert dancers, although their vocalism is a little shy. However, their dancing got a strong hand from the holiday crowd and closed well. Two changes of costume. CANFIELD & CARLETON. 22 min. F.S. This is an amusing sketch being a hodge-podge of nonsense which keeps the audience in good humor. Both have good voices, Miss Carleton especially, and her songs were well received. All right for the upper half of the bill. Closed fair. JAMES McDONALD. 15 min. in one. A good lively line of patter that got the laugh and some new songs that caught the crowd immensely. Closed exceptionally well. DREW, BARRYMORE & CO. "Bob Acres." 31 min. F.S. This was a distinct innovation and a very classy one. The holiday crowd gave the play most interested attention throughout, with frequent applause and laughter. The cast was superb, both Drew and Barrymore receiving advance applause and giving perfect interpretations of the immortal characters of "Acres" and "O'Trigger." A great feature for this town. Closed to good applause. RAY COX. 16 min. in one. Big advance hand. some of Miss Cox's work was new, and all of it went well. Makes a bigger hit every time she comes to this theatre and will prove as before especially popular with the evening audiences. Closed very strong. PAUL DICKEY. "The Come-Back." 24 min. F.S. One of the best college sketches we have ever played. It is full of college spirit and contains abundance of clever material together with a consistent plot. Held this spot in great shape with laughter all the way through. A riotous finish. HAINES & VIDOCQ. 19 min. in one. Gave the same act as previously, with a lot of new jokes interspersed. Constant laughter throughout. Both are great favorites here and got a fine reception. Closed big. GUS EDWARDS' SCHOOL BOYS & GIRLS. 36 min. F. S., close in one. this act held this accustomed place in popular favor as was proven this afternoon. It went with a rush, all the new songs being well applauded and the comedy lines are especially good. The whole act pleased. Several encores and the close was immense. KINETOGRAPH. "Jimmie is a Philanthropist." An amusing comedy film particularly appealing to the children. GENERAL REMARKS. Could not have had a better bill for pleasing a holiday crowd. Every act scored. Cutting down as much as possible, nevertheless, the show ran this afternoon until 5:15 and everybody stayed in right up to the finish. It should prove a winner for us this week. Music Hall, Pawtucket, R. I. Week of Sept. 4-5-6 Claire Maynard - Character Singer - Dressed nice - (3 changes) - 10 min in one - Went Fairly Well Spaulding & Dupree - man and woman - Acrobatic Dancing, Singing and Talking - 12 min in 1 1/2 - Went good [Colton? Cotton?] & Boulder - man and woman - Singers and Comedy Entertainers - Went Great. 15 min in 1 - Five Musical Lundts - 2 men, 3 women - Ellegant costumes and fine scenery - 18 min. - Went good
