BOSTON SHOW - WEEK SEPT. 4, 1911. (R. G. Larsen.) LA TOY BROTHERS. 10 minutes f.s. This is a remarkably good opening act. In fact, might do well further down in a show. The acrobatic stunts of the men are clever, and the comedy, although quiet, is of the kind that gets real laughs. MARIE FENTON. 14 minutes in one. Miss Fenton is principally clothes. She certainly has some very stunning costumes, but unfortunately it takes her rather long to make the changes, and her songs hardly justify the time. MRS. GENE HUGHES & CO IN "YOUTH." 26 minutes f.s. This is a clever sketch that got all kinds of laughs this afternoon. The story is that of a grandmother who makes herself young, and she is about as sprightly a grandmother as one would want to find. She gets them laughing and the result is all right. RUBY RAYMOND & BOYS. 15 minutes in one. Miss Raymond is doing pretty much the same act with the same boys, but she has added a novelty in the way of a man-sized cat that adds considerable to the act and gets some laughs. FREY TWINS. 9 minutes f.s. Second time the act has played here, but the quick work of these boys goes as well as ever. LEO CARILLO. 15 minutes in one. Held the spot and got lots of laughs. In fact, went as well, if not better than he ever did in this house. "PARIS BY NIGHT." 17 minutes f.s. 2 special sets. Second time we have played the act. while the dancing is not the sensation it was previously, the company is a very good one, and gave a good show this afternoon. WALTER & GEORGIE LAWRENCE IN "JUST LANDED." 17 minutes in one. This is a really good act in one. The drop adds considerable to it, and to-day it went very big. THE GREAT BELL FAMILY. 36 minutes f.s. Although this is a hard spot for an act of this kind, the audience almost to a man waited in for it for the finish this afternoon. The applause was frequent and the curtains were all well deserved. One can imagine what the Bells would do placed in the middle of a bill. Unfortunately it is impossible to do it with this show. CUTS. Leo Carrillo - "What the hell" and "mother-in-law." Mrs. Gene Hughes - reference to "wet blanket." "Paris by Night." - drunken soldier's straddle. TO MANAGERS RECEIVING THIS REPORT WEEKLY: If you are not already doing so, will you kindly send your report each week in exchange for ours? Music Hall, Pawtucket, R. I. Week of Sept 11-12-13. Halden & Le Clair - man and woman - "Comedy Shadowgraphists" - 13 min. - went fair Barefoot Indian Girl - Violinist - 8 min in one went good Robert Hildreth & Co. - man and 2 women - "Novelty Protean Sketch" 22 min - went good Florentine Singers - 4 men, 4 women with Director - High Class Singers - Costumes and Scenery fine 22 min - went great
