Report on PROVIDENCE SHOW, Week of September 18, 1911. Chas. Lovenberg, Manager. The bill played with less snap than the excellent one of last week and the audience seemed in apathy the biggest part of the time; in fact, they were about the dopiest crowd that I ever saw, still the show may be called all in all, fairly good. IVANOFF Novelty trapeze act, "looping the loop" which had its first American presentation today. It closed the show but was not strong enough for the spot, by any means, so was moved to this position. The novelty of the act is about all there is to it, there being too much repetition of the loop business, and an awful Spanish dance by his lady assistant, which I cut out completely. 12 Min. F. S. WILLIAM & WARNER Eccentric musical act. All right for this spot. They are getting plenty in the way of salary, for what they do. 16 Min. Short opening in One and close in One. The remainder of the act in Two. Joe KENO & Rosie GREEN In a singing, dancing and comedy skit. While they are dancing, they are very good, but the comedy is very crude, and the singing fair at best. 20 Min. Open F. S. Close in Two. FLORENTINE SINGERS This is an evolution of the "Neapolitans" presented by Miss Marion Littlefield. The act contains 8 voices, 4 men and 4 women and a musical director. The voices are all very good and the selections of a pleasing nature, some operatic, some semi-classical, others popular. The act was warmly received and I feel sure will be one of the vocal successes of the season. 23 Min. open in Three, Close in One. They can work in Two and One, if necessary. Carry two special drops and some effective costumes. THE GREAT HOWARD Well known ventriloquial act, which did very well, altho like all the others, he couldn't seem to get the audience out of the stupor they were in. 25 Min. open F. S. Close in One. SYDNEY DREW, LIONEL BARRYMORE & CO. In a condensation of "The Rivals," which they call "Bob Acres." The value of this act for vaudeville is questionable and we will be better able to tell with tonight's crowd than today's, though I have some faith in them drawing a little money on account of Barrymore's local connection. I would rather reserve a decided opinion until the latter part of the week. 27 Min. F. S. BERNARD & WESTON Standard piano and vocal act which was the hit of the bill and even they couldn't wake them up. 20 Min. in One. DARE BROS. Regulation hand balancing act, who do some very good tricks; thoroughly O. K. for the place that I had them booked, opening the show, and will get by here. 8 Min. F. S. Can work in Two. MOTION PICTURES O. K. Note:- Show went much better at night; Hits scored by Keno & Green - Florentine Singers - Howard - and Bernard & Weston. Music Hall, Pawtucket Week of Sept. 18-19-20 Warren & Faust - man and woman - Comedy Singing and Talking - 12 min in one - went good Menetekel - Illusion - 12 min. - went poor (This act played the Star last winter; was withdrawn after 3 days) Bootblack Four. - 4 men - Comedy Quartette - 13 min in one went good The Mayor and Manicure - 2 men, 2 women - Comedy Sketch 22 min. - went great -
