COLUMBUS SHOW, WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 18, 1911 --- W.W. PROSSER. BEN BEYER AND BROTHER:---Two men in a bicycle act. One straight, the other black face comedy. This is a very good offering which made a favorable impression and finished strong. Garden in one, 10 minutes. ARCH BOWEN:---"The Singing Cartoonist", who sings two or three songs drawing cartoons simultaneously. Was fairly well received and just about got by. Moderately strong finish. Olio in one. 10 minutes. Emerin Campbell and Aubrey Yates: Comedy skit "200 Miles From Broadway". Story concerns the meeting of a stranded actress and a race track follower in a small country hotel. There are some good lines, one good song and a few laughs. All in all the act gave satisfaction, though not a big hit by any means. Kitchen in 3, 20 minutes. H. T. McConnell:---H.T. McConnell, as "President of the 13 Club" made a big laughing hit. Act opens with McConnell in monologue and works up to a point where two plants," a song book boy and a straight were effectively injected into the act. There were laughs galore and a good finish. Street in one, 24 minutes. EIGHT PALACE GIRLS:---This is a pretty dancing act which seemed to please throughout, finishing strong. The girls are all presentable and well dressed. Palace in 4, 10 minutes. THE HOLD-UP:---This melodramatic offering seemed to catch on very well and there was generous applause at various points along the line, scoring a fairly strong finish. The work is well done but I believe too much of the "shot gun opera" calibre for this house. It should cause considerable talk however, and will possibly bring us some business. MOTION PICTURES:- O.K. NOTE:---As a whole the show does not loom up as well as it looks on paper. One bad feature is that there is a predominence of men. I doubt whether, as a whole, it will develope any unusual drawing powers. Music Hall, Pawtucket Week of Oct. 2-3-4 Woods, Ralton & Co - 2 men, 1 woman - Spectacular Musical Sketch - "The Marines" - 13 min - went good Robbins & Trenaman - man and woman - "Singing Duo" 10 min in one - went good Fred Peters & Co. - 2 men, 1 woman - Comedy Sketch - "Mrs. Temple's Telegram" - 18 min - went good Patty & Desperado - 2 men - Head and Hand Balancing 8 min. - went good
