C. E. BARNS. PHILADELPHIA SHOW. SEPT. 18, 1911. DENNIS BROS. 8 min. F.S. One man works straight, the other in clown costume. Very clever stunts which received good applause and closed well after a particularly sensational trick. Makes a good opener. DeFAYE SISTERS. 11 min. in one. These two girls are not only very pretty and have a charming personality, but possess a good deal of talent. Open their act with a dance, followed by some selections on the mandolin and afterwards on the banjo. Received very good applause. Closed strong. THE LANGDONS. 16 min. F.S. This is a fairly amusing sketch and well staged but the material is only fair and failed to make much of an impression. Not an act for a heavy spot on a bill but gets by in an early spot. TIM CRONIN. 14 min. in one. Cronin has neither voice nor personality, and his material is only fair. Got some little laughter from a very good-natured audience that made no particular impression. Closed only fair. MLLE. LERIS LOYAL. 10 min. F.S. A very pretty woman who does some regulation stunts on the horseback, assisted by a typical Parisian comedian. Act went fairly well, but is not novel enough to make any sensation. Closed well after the wine-drinking stunt on horseback. KATE WATSON. 12 min. in one. Miss Watson is a thorough artiste in her line and got the audience going pretty strong. Her lines are funny and she made a very good impression. Closed very well. McINTYRE & HEATH. "On Guard." 28 min. F.S. Good advance hands. Their well known act which went very well, with plenty of laughter and applause all the way through. Closed big. MACK & WALKER. "The Dollar Bill." 18 min. in one. Advance applause. Favorites here and held this spot in good style with their new act which is in their usual "kidding" vein and full of bright hits. Better than ever. Closed strong. Will be a hit with the evening crowds. SATSUDA JAPS. 14 min. F.S. This is an excellent Jap act of the style well known, but presenting some new features with considerable comedy. Have the most gorgeous embroidered scene set and costumes ever seen here. Big applause throughout and closed very strong. KINETOGRAPH. 14 min. F.S. "The Sheriff of Tuolumne." A very amusing comedy reel. GEN. REM. This show is hardly up to the standard of the excellent bills we have been giving our audience this season. The opening act started the show off very well and the DeFaye Sisters kept it going, but the next three numbers possess very little to recommend it to the audience, and as a result, the show slowed up, making it hard for Kate Watson to get them going again. CUTS. TIM CRONIN. "Money in the stocking and burglar" witticism; story of school teacher in car, ending with "I thought you were the father of two of my children." Also expression "Some men like sixteen-year old chickens." DENNIS BROS. Mock prayer. Night Note - First half of show played off much stronger, particularly The Langdons who scored very well - Music Hall, Pawtucket, R. I. Week of Oct. 12-13-14 Howard & Linder - man and woman - Comedy Singing and Talking - 12 min - Fair Charlotte Ravencroft - Violinist, Singer, Talker 7 min. Fair Flanigan & Edwards - going good Joe Edmonds - Going big
