FIFTH AVENUE THEATER. REPORT FOR WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 25, 1911. ALTUS BROTHERS. GARDEN 1. 8 Min Two neat appearing men doing club juggling. Nice little act and pleased. KALMAR & BROWN SPEC F. S. 12 M Singing and dancing. Very pleasing act and went nicely here. HEIM CHILDREN STREET 1 10 M Singing and comedy. The girl is nice looking and makes several changes. The boy does comedy after the style of Buster Keaton. They get by fairly well but were a disappointment for the city time after all that had been heard of them. MRS GENE HUGHES & CO. C.D.F. 28 M "YOUTH" by E. A. WOOLF. This is one of the best sketches this young man has turned out and possesses a novel idea which carries it by. It is not particularly well played but gets by big. With a woman of charm and personality would be almost great. WYNN & RUSSON ST 1. 15 Min This act consists of Wynn's old hat which still gets some laughs and a new partner. His material is all old, either his own or borrowed and from the applause it looked as if that were also carried for the occassion. For an old hat and the other junk the price is about 100% too high. LILLIAN RUSSELL. C.D.F. 18 Min Miss Russell looks charming and sings as well as ever. While her act is in no sense great, her personal charm and evident desire to please her audiences make her one of the best headliners we have played, as proven by the box office. Stepp, Mehlinger & King. Olio 1 17 Min These entertainers did remarkably well for this spot in PATHE'S WEEKLY. This weeks film showed among other things the Labor Day parade, the scene of the Beattie Murder Trial, The launching of a battle ship, Automobile races at Brighton Beach and the Cyclone at Charleston and Ladies' gowns from Paris. Note. The show was a pleasing one and better than seen here for some time, as a whole, but the business done can be laid wholly to Miss Russell. Robert E Irwin Manager.
