C. E. BARNS. PHILADELPHIA SHOW. OCT. 2, 1911. MLLE. MARTHA. 12 min. F.S. Makes a very good opener. Mlle. Martha has a stunning athletic figure and does the regulation feats on the trapeze with skill and ease. Applause throughout and made an immense finish after her novel work on the descending rope. METROPOLITAN MINSTRELS. 23 min. open 1, close F.S. Second appearance of this local act and went very well with the holiday crowd. Good selection of juvenile songs, and closed A1 after the bedroom scene and the song, "I Am Afraid." MARIE FENTON. 13 min. in one. Took strong with the jury in spite of the fact that all of her selections were of the ragtime order. Four changes of costume. Every selection was well applauded and the finish was great with six bows. THE CHADWICK TRIO. 21 min. open F.S., close in one. A very slender thread of plot to this sketch, but the dancing of Miss Chadwick and the "Constable" is enough to carry any act to success. The comedy is good, but the dancing is great and won the house completely. Closed big, Miss Chadwick giving a little speech as an encore. MLLE. SIMONE D'BERYL. 11 min. F.S. A decided novelty. Mlle. D'Beryl is a very beautiful and graceful woman, and the electrical effects are a constant surprise and pleasure. Each one of the transformations got a good hand. Closed strong. CARSON & WILLARD. "The Dutch in China." 20 min. in one. These people always go immensely here, but today were a genuine riot. Introduced some local stuff which got big laughter and applause. Used a little of their old material, but for the most part it was new, and all of it good, including their parodies. THE FLORENTINE SINGERS. 23 min. F.S., close in one. Miss Littlefield has gathered about her some exceptionally fine voices and has dressed the act very becomingly. All the selections were from the operas, with one or two exceptions, and all of them received big applause. A good high-class musical act that pleased everybody. Closed to a fine hand. STUART BARNES. 20 min. in one. Advance applause. Introduced a lot of new material which was in his general style of humor, and was, as ever, well received. Always holds this spot in fine form, with nothing to be desired. Closed big. THE AURORA TROUPE. [??] min. F.S. A great closing feature and no mistake. The audience stayed in for it and gave it constant applause all the way through and after the spectacular finish gave the performers several recalls. KINETOGRAPH. We are trying the so-called "Illustrated Magazine Films" this week. They are very interesting, all of them of national events, finishing with the big locomotive collision. GENERAL REMARKS. This being Jewish holiday, the house was crowded this afternoon and the show went great. It is all that could be wished for in the way of a high-class program and gave everybody thorough satisfaction. It looks like a strong week for business. CUTS METROPOLITAN MINSTRELS. Mock Prayer. CHADWICK TRIO. Throwing "Teddy Bear" into audience; also expression, "H---." CARSON & WILLARD. Joke about "leaving shoes outside of temple and reference to burning punk." Music Hall, Pawtucket, R. I. Week of Nov. 6-7-8 Maddern & Nugent - man and woman - Comedy Sketch - "Too Many Darlings" 20 min went weak Geneveve Warner - "Harpist" - 8 min in one - went weak Mardo & Hunter - man and woman - "Crazy Recruit" 12 min - went good Theo and [Dandris?] - Balloon Girl and [??] Dandris 13 min. - went great
