C. E. BARNS. PHILADELPHIA SHOW. JUNE 19, 1911. LA TOY BROS. 10 min. F.S. Two very clever acrobats who use long table, chairs and other paraphernalia. Both work straight, one of the brothers introducing a little clever dancing. Good applause throughout. Make a very good close after the jumping feat. J. WARREN KEANE. 21 min. in 1 1/2. Mr. Keane has improved very much since his last appearance here and has a lot of new tricks that are very clever. Carries a plush drop that is effective and is accompanied by a pretty girl who is a fairly good pianiste. Received generous applause. Closed well in one with some excellent card tricks. SULLY FAMILY. 21 min. F.S. "His Wedding Day." First time in this sketch. A lot of gingery nonsense with some eccentric dancing and one good song. Just about held the spot, and closed fairly well. KARL & ROMANO. 13 min. in one. Miss Earl makes a very pretty appearance and has a sweet, although not a very strong, voice. Received some advance applause. Fairly good hand for each one of her songs. The close was good. KAJIYAMA. 20 min. F.S. This is a real novelty. The Jap and his assistants make a good appearance. They use a double swinging blackboard. The Jap makes some amusing remarks during his act which quite win the house. Some of his feats of double-brain writing are remarkable and got a big hand. In fact, the whole act held the interest of the audience very closely, and the finish was strong. One of the most original acts of the kind that has ever appeared here. LILIAN HERLEIN. 23 min. in one. Miss Herlein is a beautiful woman with a strong voice and a superb figure which she sets off with some very stunning costumes. Sang several selections which got good applause. Closed fairly strong. LINTON & LAWRENCE. 17 min. F.S. One of the prettiest sketches we have ever played. Miss Lawrence has a charming personality, sings very well and dances beautifully. The whole act is well put together and gets constant applause. The finish was big. FRANK TINNEY. 23 min. in one. Frank Tinney is a Philadelphia boy, but aside from the big advance hand he received on this account, the applause which he got all the way through was strong because his work is unique and his fun all spontaneous. The whole act, with his kidding the orchestra leader and "Traps," brought roars of laughter, and he made a big close. Look for him to draw a good deal of business for the balance of the week, if the weather is any way favorable. ERNEST PANTZER TROUPE. 8 min. F.S. Be very much the same routine of work as the Willy Pantzer Troupe, with slight variation. The Midget was specially well applauded. On the whole, although the act lacked novelty to our audience, it was well received. KINETOGRAPH. "Spring-Heel Johnnie." An amusing comedy film with the advantage of brevity with a long show. GEN. REM. The hits this afternoon were Frank Tinney, Linton & Lawrence, Kajiyama and Miss Herlein. The last-named will probably go stronger with our evening audiences, particularly as the act is a little too long and the bathing song was eliminated. CUTS FRANK TINNEY: Speaking across the footlight to patrons. SULLY FAMILY. Any suggestion of profanity, like "What the h---," "d---," etc. HARRY LINTON. The verse about the "Mother-in-law going up in a balloon." LILIAN HERLEIN. Entire bathing song. Music Hall, Pawtucket, R. I. Week of Nov. 27-28-29 Gordon, Brown & Gordon, 2 men, 1 woman - "The Stage Struck Kids" - went fair Lang & May - man and woman - Singing, Dancing and Character Changes - 12 min in one - went good William Raymore & Co. - 3 men, 1 woman - Comedy Sketch - "Between the Races" - 21 in - went good Bert Melrose - "Comedy Acrobatic" 18 min went great -
