BOSTON SHOW WEEK OCTOBER 9, - 1911. (R. G. Larsen.) (Monday Night Show.) THREE ESCARDOS. 6 minutes f.s. This is a short but mighty good opening act and started the bill in good shape to-day. DE MICHELLE BROTHERS. 13 minutes in one. These are street singers after the style of Lyons & Yosco, but their work is more quiet and they are certainly not as strong, but it is a pleasing act that would go further down on a bill. THOMAS B. HOIER & CO IN "THE ICEMAN." 15 minutes f.s. A rough comedy sketch that has been playing over the New England circuit and has laugh producing qualities. It was just as big a hit in this house as it was anywhere else. DALE & BOYLE. 11 minutes in one. this team is now working white face doing a very good singing and dancing act, and as big a hit as ever with the surprise finish of the impersonator. CHARLES KELLOGG. 23 minutes f.s. Mr. Kellogg is one of the most famous naturalists in the world in the same class as John Burroughs, and is widely known as a lyceum attraction and for his lectures in schools. This is his first vaudeville appearance and to say he was a hit to-day would be putting it mildly. He works in a wood set and opens his act with the night calls of the birds. He claims to be the only person who can sing as birds sing, not imitate them. He then does a bird solo with the piano accompaniment with a minute's talk explaining the difference in bird notes, all of which is interesting. Then he has a Dancing Flame which is a decided novelty, the flame responding to the vibrations of his voice and tuning forks when sounded in all parts of the audience. He also produces fire from friction, and claims to be the only white man who is now doing it. In the finish of his act he has six Victor records singing birds songs at the same time that he sings, also with the piano accompaniment. The effect is sensational and startling, and at both performances to-day got a tremendous hand. The act as a whole is a positive hit. JIMMY LUCAS. 14 minutes in one. Lucas is doing a single act and is going big. In fact, when he works single he has always been a hit in this house, but with a partner was a fizzle. LEROY & HARVEY. "RAINED IN." 18 minutes f.s. special set. This is a comedy sketch put in place of Arthur Dunn & Marian Murray, Dunn taking sick here with pleurisy to-day. It filled a particularly hard spot about as well as anything could have done, doing fairly well this afternoon and to-night getting away with it as well as it would be possible for a sketch to do on this bill. GUS EDWARDS' SONG REVUE. 35 minutes open in one special sets. Second week with same programme, and going as well as ever.
