HUDSON THEATRE, UNION HILL, N.J. JOHN C. PEEBLES. Week of October 9, 1911. OLIVE & HARDING, Comedy Juggling Act. Olive does the juggling with Harding in clown makeup assisting her and a small boy filling in with some very good acrobatics. She missed a number of her tricks this afternoon but finished to good applause. Garden in 4. Time 12 min. ARTHUR CONRAD & MOSCROP SISTERS, Singing and dancing. Conrad makes a good appearance, works hard and lands his stuff. The girls are prepossessing, make several changes of costumes and have a good routine of material. Will do well in this spot. Olio in 1. Time 16 min. DICK CROLIUS & CO., in "Shorty's Elevation." 5 people. An amusing story well presented and will do all right in this spot on any bill. A little too long in its present shape and needs to be cut slightly and the action quickened. Good cast. Own set in 3. Time 26 min. JAMES FRANCIS DOOLEY, "All Alone." Since the accident to his wife Dooley has been doing a single. At the matinee this afternoon he got a rather slow start but it was not long before he had his audience laughing at and with him and he proved one big laughing hit. Street in 1. Time 23 min. BARRY, HALVERS & CO., "Meet me at the Fountain." 3 people. A very good idea, well worked out and with a little more smoothing out of the rough spots will make a good specialty number on any program. Own set in 3, close in 1, 5 min. Time 17 min. TEN DARK KNIGHTS. A very clever company of colored artists, featuring Jack Smith, an unusually amusing colored comedian. Open in 1 attired in red huzzar uniforms and playing brass, then going to special set in 3 with old southern songs and dances. Closed to big applause. Open in 1, 12 min. Time 26 min. LYONS AND YOSCO, "The Harpist and the Singer." Received a big round of applause on their entrance and went fully as strong as on their previous visit. One of the best liked acts we have played. Street in 1. Time 14 min. REED BROTHERS, Acrobats. to my mind one of the best acrobatic teams in the business. A big hit here. Open in 1, 2 min, then to 2. Time 15 min. CUTS Damn in Barry, Halvers & Co. Go to Hell in Dick Crolius sketch. Gag about being away for a year in Reed Bros. At the matinee Barry and Halvers had the misfortune to lose their baggage and had to put them way down on the bill. With the new arrangement at night the show went much better and every act seemed to please.
