MARYLAND THEATRE BALTIMORE - Week Oct. 9, '11. CLEMENSO BROTHERS 14 Min. Full Stage - Two clowns doing an old time musical act with a few acrobatic stunts. Act not good enough for the Big Time. JOHNNY SMALL & SMALL SISTERS 15 Min. in 1 1/2 - Good dancing, poor singing and bad comedy. This is another small time act. CARSON & WILLARD 17 Min. in 1 - A very good Dutch act, going all right here. HANLON BROS. & CO. 18 Min. Full Stage - This well known act held its own in good shape. 3 WHITE KUHNS 20 Min. in 1 - The first and only real hit of the show. KALMAR & BROWN 18 Min. Full stage - A splendid act, but just a little worn for an audience, as this is its third appearance. PAUL ARMSTRONG'S ACT "THE SIGNAL," starring Catherine Calvert. 40 Min. - Four scenes all their own. Here is a real melodrama that should work out into a good piece of vaudeville property, as it contains plenty of action in the way of a kidnapping, rescue and rounding up of a band of Black Handers, an attractive and capable star in Miss Calvert and a good name to bill in Paul Armstrong's. They gave a very good performance for an opening, and as Armstrong is here and working hard to smooth out the rough parts, I think it will be in good shape by Thursday.
