REPORT ON COLUMBUS SHOW WEEK OCT 16TH -- 1911. -- W. W. PROSSER. THE MUSICAL FREDERICKS: Man and woman in a musical act, the man essaying comedy, and the woman working straight. They introduce numbers on cornet, Saxaphone, slide trombone etc., all of which were fairly well received. As a whole there is not much to the act and it had a hard time getting by in the opening spot. Dark fancy in three 15 minutes. (Act goes St. Louis.) FIELD BROTHERS: These young men present a routine of dancing in blackface, varied in nature, and the kind that seemed to find favor. -- Applause earned at the finish of each number and a fairly strong finish. Olio in one 10 minutes. (Act goes to Cleveland) MILTON and DOLLY NOBLES: Offering a sketch. "Why Walker Rebelled", a sequel to "Why Walker Reformed". -- This act has some very good points which secured liberal laughter, and there are quite a number of slow places. In this case both the wife and husband imbibe too freely, which fact prevents the act, in my judgment from making the same kind of appeal as did the predecessor, it not being too pleasant an idea to see the woman in the story under the "influence". -- It is not overdone however, rather artistically being the fact. -- There was a moderately strong finish. Light fancy in 3 25 minutes. (Act goes to _____ ) LOLO, THE MYSTIC: This Indian girl scored very well with her "second sight" and marksmanship with bow and arrow and rifle, but she was not a riot by any means. This may be one of the attractions which causes more comment on the outside than applause in the house. -- Went quite well all in all, with a moderate finish. Special Wood in one, and wood in three. 25 minutes. (Act goes to Dayton.) W. S. DICKINSON: A newcome here who does an old man monologue, the character being an Ex Justice Of The Peace. -- He is away from the usual thing, having a good style, and his delivery is the kind that found favor. A little slow in the beginning, but the improvement was rapid and marked, the result being a genuine hit and a strong finish. Introduced a song and dance. Street In One 17 min. (Act Goes to Dayton) ROMANY OPERA COMPANY: Singing act of the better class with six men and six women, all of whom have good voices. Each number scored and the finish was moderately strong. O. K. Special in 5 23 minutes. (ACt goes to Cleveland) WELCH MEALY & MONTROSE: in "Play Ball" -- made 'em laugh as before going well throughout and finishing strong. Street and Special in one, 18 minutes. (Act goes to Louis ville.) BERTISCH: Athlete with a very showy number introducing straight feats all of which brought liberal applause. Close atten- and Strong finish. Special in 3 9 minutes. BERTISCH Continued. (Act goes to Toledo.) STERIO SLIDES World's Championship, Phil. Vs. New York. -- Just enough of them to show a few preliminaries but they proved interesting.
