HUDSON THEATRE, UNION HILL, N.J. JOHN C. PEEBLES. Week of October 16, 1911. LUCIFER & KIBLER, The Whirlwind Acrobat and the Loose-Limbed Comique. This is Wm. Lucifer, formerly of the 3 Lucifers, working with a very clever partner, in fact, one of the best acrobats I have ever played. Lucifer does some of his high kicking and the act will make a good opening feature for any bill. Garden in 3. Time 8 min. TWO PEERLESS MACKS, "The ginger Girl and the Dancing Kid." A very clever singing and dancing act which went over in good shape. Pleasing appearance and a good routine. Good for any house. Olio in 1. Time 13 min. EMILY GREEN & CO., "A Minnesota Romance." This is a very entertaining and amusing comedy sketch with three people, Miss Green playing the role of a Swedish servant girl. No manager can go wrong on this act for it is certainly a laughing hit. Parlor in 3. Time 19 min. KING, BENNETT & FIELDS, Those Frisco Boys. An act on the order of the Three White Kuhns that went over in this spot in splendid shape. They open with a rag song, accompanying themselves on the harp-guitar. A selection on the piano follows, one of the boys sings a solo and they close with a rag selection. The boys make a good appearance and there is no reason why the act should not prove good value on any bill. Street in 1. Time 15 min. RAWLS & VON KAUFMAN, "The Willing Worker." We played this act a year ago at which time I expressed the opinion that Rawls was an unusually funny blackface comedian. I have no reason now for modifying this statement for the act today proved the laughing and applause hit of the bill and that in spite of the fact that our audiences to not care particularly for repeats. This act ought to prove a sure-fire laughing hit for any manager. Pl. Chamber in 2, close in 1, 6 min. Time 24 min. DELLA FOX, The Comic Opera Star. She is in splendid voice, looks better than she has in years but is in need of material, her first two songs not being particularly strong. She is carrying an accompanist with her who plays a solo while she is making her change to boy's attire. Int. in 3. Time 18 min. WILL ROGERS, Champion Lariat Thrower. Has an amusing routine of talk and is very expert in the use of the lariat. Held this spot in good shape. Open in 1, 3 min, then to full stage, then to 1, 7 min. Time 13 min. GORDON BROTHERS AND THE BOXING KANGAROO. Was rather disappointed in this act as a closing feature. The kangaroo was not in good shape and the boxing bout was rather tame. However, the novelty of the thing may appeal but personally I would prefer a good strong comedy feature to close the show. Garden in 4. Time 9 min.
