5Th Ave 10/16/11 #2 Billy Gould & Belle Ashlyn. Olio 1 14 Min The usual Gould act, with some new material added. The girl is the best he has had since the Suratt Days and gets away with a comedy song in fair style, while Billy's talk gets some laughs. A fair act and not overpaid. James Durkin & Co. Dk Int. 18 Min "The Avenger" A dramatic sketch 5 people, one woman who does little but explain the plot at the opening and four men, two of whom are only on for a moment at the finish, so that the act really resolves itself into a duo logue between two men. Durkin as the avenger, comes into the office of a railroad manager and because his children were killed in a wreck on the road holds the man up with a gun and recites the harrowing circumstances telling the man that his son is on a train that is going to be wrecked. After getting the audience interested and expecting a climax of some sort, the two clerks break into the room and the Avenger tells them he was only fooling, puts his gun in his pocket and calmly walks out, making a decidedly flat and weak finish to what promised to be an interesting playlet. With this fixed up in some way so as not to insult and audiences intelligence, the play should be all right as a fair vaudeville sketch without any comedy. Frank Fogarty Olio 1 19 Stories and songs. Goes well but lacks class in looks and material. Seems largely overpaid, compared with Kelly, Tinney and some others. Asahi Troupe. Own drop 10 Min 5Th Ave 10/16/11 #3 Pathe's Weekly. Another remarkably interesting film, showing current events, showing among other thing Stolypin of Russia shortly before his assasination, King Geo V in Scotland. The Austin dam disaster and latest styles in lady's hairdressing from Paris. Many of our patrons consider these films one of our most attractive features. Note. A fair playing show that possess more variety than usual and pleases as a whole, but considering that the headline cost but a small price, the show is too costly. Robert E Irwin Manager
