FIFTH AVENUE THEATER. Report. Week of October, 23, 1911. Three Escardos Pal 8 Min Three men with a bounding table. Do a neat but short act that went well for an opener. Johny Johnston Olio 1 This man retired after Monday matinee on account of position and was replaced by an equally good act in. Sampson & Douglas Olio 1 10 min Man and woman, the latter wheeled on in a hamper by the man, she emerges and have a little talk that amounts to little, the man sings a song while she makes a change inside the basket. This is the best part of the act. Claude & Fanny Usher C.D.F. 23 Min The old sketch of Fagin's Decision, one of the prettiest acts in vaudeville and goes well with those to whom it is new. Olivetti Troubadors. Olio 1 14 M Two men one with guitar and one with violin. A very quiet act with no comedy. The man with the violin has been changed to the detriment of the offering. Went well. Isabell D'Armond C.D.F. Cl 1 18 M Assisted by Frank Carter. Miss D'Armond looks well but the man is the mainstay of the act and is a remarkably clever dancer. The offering could be improved by a little pruning of the talk at the opening which goes for little and the dance at the finish detracts from the class of the act with the man as a female impersonator. On the whole the act is up to the mark and will improve. Murphy & Nichols F. S. 25 M "From ZaZa to Uncle Tom" The old act and still gets laughs. It is an awful price to pay for this junk at the price. Conroy & LeMaire Olio 1 15 M The old bean mine talk still going well. This was too hard a spot for them and they were moved up after the matinee. Gus Edwards Song Revue 8 scenes [30?] minutes. accessories are sadly in need of renovating. The act seems to be drawing some as business is good, and there does not seem to be anything else on the bill to get them. Pathe's Weekly. A good collection of subjects and interesting events. Note. Considering the lack of novelty it is not a bad show, but there is only one act that has not been here before many times, and while it is hardly an old timer's bill, it is decidedly passe. Robert E. Irwin Manager.
