FIFTH AVENUE THEATER. Report. Week of October, 23, 1911. Three Escardos Pal 8 Min Three men with a bounding table. Do a neat but short act that went well for an opener. Johny Johnston Olio 1 This man retired after Monday matinee on account of position and was replaced by an equally good act in. Sampson & Douglas Olio 1 10 min Man and woman, the latter wheeled on in a hamper by the man, she emerges and have a little talk that amounts to little, the man sings a song while she makes a change inside the basket. This is the best part of the act. Claude & Fanny Usher C.D.F. 23 Min The old sketch of Fagin's Decision, one of the prettiest acts in vaudeville and goes well with those to whom it is new. Olivetti Troubadors. Olio 1 14 M Two men one with guitar and one with violin. A very quiet 5th Ave #2 10/12/11. This is a good idea but badly worked out as to detail. As an advertisement for Edward songs it is good. Some of the children are clever and the little prima donna has a nice voice and appearance. For the money this act gets, the costume and production should be immaculate. As it is many of the accessories are sadly in need of renovating. The act seems to be drawing some as business is good, and there does not seem to be anything else on the bill to get them. Pathe's Weekly. A good collection of subjects and interesting events. Note. Considering the lack of novelty it is not a bad show, but there is only one act that has not been here before many times, and while it is hardly an old timer's bill, it is decidedly passe. Robert E. Irwin Manager.
