C. E. BARNS. PHILADELPHIA SHOW. OCT. 23, 1911. VITTORI & GEORGETTI. 10 min. F.S. This is a mighty novel act and started off the show in great shape. The athlete who does the dancing and boxing while standing on his hands is certainly a wonder, and everything that he did received good applause. His tramp-comedy partner is equally good, and altogether the act is of the kind that could fit in almost any spot on the bill and make good. WILLIAMS BROS. 10 min. in one. these two boys make a very good appearance and do some very clever wooden-shoe dancing. Closed to a good hand. HANLON BROS. & CO. 20 min. F.S. There is certainly plenty of life and ginger in this act from start to finish. The work of the two Brothers going through imitative stunts is remarkable and got the big hand, as it well deserved. A very amusing act. Finished strong. GRANT & HOAG. 21 min. in one. Advance hand. Well known here and always go well. Introduced a lot of new material, all of which took with the crowd getting laughter and applause throughout. Good closing hand. MRS. GENE HUGHES & CO. "Youth." 27 min. F.S. this is a bright sketch along novel lines, very well acted, plenty of interest to hold the attention all the way through and got a fine closing hand. CLARICE VANCE. 13 min. in one. Big advance hand. Miss Vance has always gone very well here, and today was no exception. Sang some new songs and others that were familiar, and all of them in her own peculiar style. Plenty of applause after each selection. Closed very strong. CHIP & MARBLE. "In Old Edam." 23 min. F.S. Same act as presented here before with success, with some few variations in songs and "business." Held the spot in fine style, and closed well. JOE WELCH. 21 min. in one. Advance hand. Opens his act with the assistance of a couple of street gamins whom he uses to get a good many laughs for good character patter. Then proceeds with his regular monologue which is very funny and got constant laughter and some applause. Held the spot O. K., and closed strong. "THE LEADING LADY." 30 min. SEcond appearance in this house with Marguerite Haney and one or two other changes in the cast. Brilliantly costumed and staged. Made the same strong impression as it did on the previous occasion. Miss Haney is a brilliant little artiste and altogether the act is right up to the Rolfonian standard. Closed big. KINETOGRAPH. The baseball stereopticon slides, of course, bot a big hand. The Pathe Weekly film of Current Events continues to keep the people in very well. GENERAL REMARKS. Show played off in great shape today to a capacity house. A show worthy of the Athletics - the World's Champions - who will see it before the week is over.
