Report on PROVIDENCE SHOW, Week of October 30, 1911. Chas. Lovenberg, Manager. The show is quite good in spots. As a whole gave excellent satisfaction. It is a little bit weak on acts in One. THE BOSTON-NATIONAL MINSTRELS This feature proved a very good headliner for us, undoubtedly drawing money and giving us a good advance sale, also making good in a most decided fashion with the audience. It lends itself also to splendid advertising possibilities and with the street parade, etc. attracts lots of attention. Am looking for a good week's business from it. The act ran just one hour today. Am endeavoring to cut it down a little for tonight. Think it would be better about 50 Min. Of course, it is set in F. S. with very excellent scenic and costume equipment. J. FRANCIS DOOLEY Mr. Dooley didn't do quite as well as I hoped for this afternoon, but there is no question but that it was an awful hard position following the Minstrel Show, and as we needed an act that we could open without the orchestra, he was about the only thing available. He is inclined to be a little bit blue at times and needs watching. I don't think that his present act is as good as that given heretofore with Corrine Sayles. 20 Min. in One. Also too long. Will endeavor to have him cut down for the night show. SELDOMS' VENUS Marble statuary. finest act of its kind that I ever saw and the artistic gem of the bill. 12 Min. F. S. DE FAYE SISTERS Well-known act of mandolin and banjo playing, etc., who manage to hold the spot fairly well Their appearance help them probably as much as their ability. 10 Min. in One. MORTON & NICHOLSON In their well-known sketch "Ella's All Right," which made a big laughing hit. 20 Min. F.S. SULLY & HUSSEY This act was a little bit disappointing, particularly in the early part. They caught up fairly well at the finish, but the material at the beginning is not strong enough to hold the audience in the latter part of the show. With a little elimination of some of the material at the early part of it, their act, I think, also will improve. 18 Min. in One. CYCLING BRUNETTES Good lively bicycle act; splendid value for the money. Would make an excellent opening to any bill and got by this spot o. K. 8 Min. F. S. MOTION PICTURES O. K.
