TRENT THEATRE CRITICISM, WEEK OF NOVEMBER 13, 1911 By J. F. Clancy. DENNIS BROTHERS Revolving ladder act. Full stage. This act met with an accident at the afternoon show, part of their apparatus breaking after the act had been in progress about three minutes, which compelled them to stop. THE HYLANDS Pianologue and character singing in "one." This act only went fair, the piano work being rather tiresome and draggy but the singing of the other member of the team gets by fairly well. JARROW Comedy magician in "one." Went as well as he did the previous time he was here. Doing pretty much the same act. "PAID BACK" Dramatic playlet, full stage. This act was written by Mrs. Florence S. Holmes, of this city and was very naturally given a big reception. The act is all right for a #2 or #3 position but not quite strong enough to close the first half of the show. INTERMISSION E. F. HAWLEY & CO Dramatic playlet, in full stage, entitled "The Bandit." This act in my judgement is the cleverest dramatic sketch in vaudeville. It went big this afternoon, in fact better than anything in the show. LAURA GUERITE assisted by GEORGE MOORE Singing act in "one." This I understand is Miss Guerite's first vaudeville appearance and her act ought to make a very capable offering after it gets down to good working order. Notwithstanding the fact that it was a little crude this afternoon it took seven or eight bows at the finish. AURORA TROUPE Bicycle act full stage. This combination has the Kaufmann and all other big bicycle acts beat to a finish. Positively the finest of its kind we have ever played.
