GRAND OPERA HOUSE, PITTSBURGH, PA. J.P. Harris. Nov. 27th, 1911. CLAUDE W. ROODE. 9 minutes. Garden in three. Slack Wire performer. An exceptionally good opening act at a very reasonable price. HANDERS & MELLISS. 9 minutes. Olio. Dancing and piano playing. Just good enough to get by No. 2. Would not advise putting them on any later. ELSA SATANELLO TRIO 9 minutes. Garden. Acrobatic dancing and an attempt at comedy. This is a well dressed act and would do to open the show at about half the salary they are getting. J. C. NUGENT & CO. 25 minutes. Open in One five minutes; close interior in three. "The Squarer." A very clever act. I always credited Mr. Nugent with being one of the best performers. The act is a big hit with us. MR. & MRS. JIMMIE BARRY 25 minutes. Open special drop in one. Back to Two with another interior drop. Mr. Barry's new sketch, "The Rube," I consider one of the worst he has had. Not nearly so good as "The Skin Game" or "Hensfoot Corners." Only doing fair for us this week. STALEY & BIRBECK. 9 minutes. Special in Three. Musical blacksmiths in original blacksmith transformations. There is, of course, nothing to this act except the transformation. The musical portion of it is very ordinary. I am afraid it has been seen so often that there are very few of our patrons who are really surprised at the change from blacksmith shop to parlor. The great value, of course, lies in the transformation. MARSHALL MONTGOMERY. 18 minutes. Olio. A very good ventriloquist, who is going big next to closing. McINTYRE & HEATH. 31 minutes. First half of week, "The Man from Montana." Thursday, Friday and Saturday, "Waiting at the Church." "The man from Montana" is the same big hit that it has always been for us. "Waiting at the Church" not nearly as big a hit as their old acts, but feel sure that when they have had the act working 4 or 5 weeks that it will be built up so as to be another success for them.
