Report on PROVIDENCE SHOW, Week of December 11, 1911. CHAS. LOVENBERG, Manager. The show pleased immensely and played much better than I expected it would; in fact it is a much better show on the stage than it is on paper. IOLEEN SISTERS Two attractive girls in a little act of wire walking and sharp shooting that serves its purpose of opening the entertainment satisfactorily. 8 Min. F. S. LES MARQUARDS Some spots in this act are very funny. As it is quite short there isn't much that is real bad, but there is an objection to paying the price we are for the act when there is only about 4 minutes of real good stuff. At about half the price, would be satisfactory. 7 Min. Short opening in One. Close F. S. MAX WITT'S MELODY LANE GIRLS The act is quite well known and requires no criticism other than to say the audience were pleased with their work. 14 Min. in One. RAWLS & VON KAUFMAN Man (blackface), woman (white face) feeder. There isn't a great deal that is new in the act but the man is an exceptionally funny blackface comedian, and the woman is a good foil. They made an unqualified hit. I might say "the hit of the show." They had the audience screaming for 22 Min. They open F. S. and have a close of about 6 Min. in One. The act would be better all in One. They are going to begin it in Two tonight and close in One. In that way it should prove a valuable act on the bill and would be fitted to take an import spot. MIDDLETON, SPELLMEYER & CO. This act pleased moderately. I don't think it appears as good as it did on its first visit, however, it is acceptable. 17 Min. F. S. NONETTE Violiniste and vocalist. Unquestionably the best in her line. I think she has all the others backed up against the wall and dented into the plaster. She is attractive, plays well, has a good voice and does not resort to wiggles. 14 Min. in One. EDMUND HAYES & CO. "Piano Mover." A very funny sketch that kept the audience laughing. 17 Min. F. S. WILL DILLON I am much disappointed in Mr. Dillon's act. If it wasn't for his suggestive stuff, which I cut out, and for a couple of plants, a young lady and a boy, who sing from the audience, I don't think he would get very far; in fact, it is the lady and boy who made the hit of his act. 18 Min. in One. LANE & O'DONNELL A very funny acrobatic comedy act that held the spot satisfactorily. 8 Min. F. S. MOTION PICTURES O. K.
