CRITICISM. FIFTH AVENUE THEATRE, NEW YORK CITY. WEEK OF FEBRUARY 26, 1912. MUSICAL JOHNSTONS: Two men and a woman. Very pleasing musical number, using three xylophones with a good repertoire. Really too good for an opener. 15 minutes, full stage. SIX O'CONNOR SISTERS: A little novelty in this act in the manner in which they dress, also being "really truly" sisters and a sextette. Their voices are good with pleasing selections. All right for an early place. 16 minutes in one. RAWLS AND VON KAUFMAN: Had the audience roaring continually. The man is quite original and they manage to get the laughs. 23 minutes full stage, close in one 4 minutes. WILLIE BROTHERS: First time here. Greatest equilibristic act on the stage today. Big hit. 12 minutes full stage. M'LLE DAZIE: Assisted by Sig. Bonfiglio and eight young girls who present quite a pretentious sort of dancing act, probably one of the best of this style dancing acts, far from being a drawing card, simply a relief to vaudeville. Use a cyclorama of plush in full stage. 18 minutes. WILLA HOLT WAKEFIELD: Is presenting the best act of her stage career. Her numbers are all bright and absolutely clean, free from any suggestiveness whatsoever. At every performance she is the applause hit of the bill. 17 minutes in one. BEDINI AND ARTHUR: Assisted by Eddie Cantor in a "Burlesque Juggling Novelty" with a satire on M'lle Dazie. They use a young lady in the audience as a plant and with the two assistants manage to keep the house in a continual uproar. Full stage using their own drop as a backing, 17 minutes. STEPP, MEHLINGER AND KING: Negotiated this place in great shape. 15 minutes in one. ZENO, JORDAN AND ZENO: Two men and a woman, one man in eccentric make-up with pretty fair comedy. Quite an excellent aerial act. 10 minutes full stage.
