[page number] I [blue stamped number] 250 R. S. Robbins. WASHINGTON SHOW Week of Oct. 27, 1913. BLANCHE SLOAN: 7 min. F.S. Nervy aerial act with several thrills. Good opener, went well. WILLIAMS & SEGAL: 9 min. in one. Good dancing team, men and woman. The act is well dressed and the woman attractive. Went well. GEORGE B. RENO & CO.: 16 min. F.S. Grotesque comedy act. Was once a novelty. Got its laughs, but did not finish strong. JED AND ETHEL DOOLEY: 13 min. F.S. Combination dancing, rope swinging, and cycling act, intermingled with good comedy by Mr. Dooley. Dancing comprises the raging hits, turkey trot, Texas Tommy, etc. This act is well dressed and was one of the special hits of the show, receiving a storm of applause at finish. MADDEN & FITZPATRICK: 24 min. in 2. Mr. Madden's clever piano playing surrounded by fair sketch, combining comedy and pathos. The act was apparently enjoyed, getting its laughs and a good hand at finish. JULIUS TANNEN: 20 min. in one. Mr. Tannen with his chatter was the hit of this performance. His audience was in continuous laughter and he got an ovation after his serious recitation at finish. D' Armond & Carter: 21 min. in one, then two, then one. Man and woman, the latter very cute and dainty, with personality plus. Mr. Carter also makes a good appearance. Miss D' Armond was greeted with advance hand. The act comprises singing, dancing, piano playing and comedy, Mr. Carter's rather forced however and tending towards coarseness. The act was well received, getting considerable applause throughout and a big hand at finish. CLOWNLAND: 25 min., F.S. Beautiful tabloid musical comedy. The company clever, the musical numbers tuneful and especially good dancing. The act has lots of life and goes fine. The principals, Babette, Victor Stone and Felix Young were very successful in getting their songs over and the dancing of Iving and DuBois was splendid. The act was thoroughly enjoyed. PATHE WEEKLY: 16 min. Entertaining and instructive reel of pictures. Held the audience successfully and was appreciated. Fisher's contribution was very good. GENERAL REMARKS: One more of our great shows. CUTS: Sloan - "Hello Liz" and "Oh you kid" Reno & Co. "business of thumbing nose. Madden & Fitzpatrick - "What to h---" D' Armond & Carte - "Suffragette story, a woman wants something and she thinks its a vote", how suffragettes will parade and how men will walk business. Expressions - "thought you were selling tripe, and business of kicking up Miss D'Armond's skirt.
