B. F. KEITH'S HIPPODROME Week of Dec. 8, 1913 Cleveland, Ohio LEITZEL & JEANETTE - - 2 women. Palace in 4. 15 minutes. Two clever performers on the high trapeze and swinging rings. Miss Leitzel particularly good in a one arm revolution that closes the act with a big hand. (Youngstown) BISSETT & SCOTT - - 2 men. Street in 1. 15 minutes. A classy pair of singers and dancers, who draw fair applause. Their act is good, but nothing in it to stir them up. (Erie) McCORMICK & WALLACE - - Man and woman, opening with special drop in 4, interior scene of a vaudeville booking agency, closing with street in 1. 20 minutes. A conventional ventriloquial act. A little fair comedy but nothing startling. Some laughs and a small hand at the close. (Philadelphia) MME. VIOLET BESSON & CO - - Sketch "The woman Who Knew". 3 women, 1 man. C. D. F. in 4. A good sketch and no changes in it from that of past seasons. The star is acceptable and the sketch pleases. Closed to fair applause. (Open) WELCH, MEALY & BELL - - 3 men, street in 1. Same old act as in the past, fair tumbling and some lively patter on the part of Welch. Otherwise the act is not a strong one. Closes to fair applause. (Open) BESSIE CLAYTON & CO - Opening with special velour curtain in 2, closing with special curtain in 4. 30 minutes. The act consists of Miss Clayton, a clever sister team, six coryphee tangoists, and a clever young man who dances well and has the pleasure six times. The specialties are used to fill in while Miss Clayton changes. We gave this act all the billing. Miss Clayton has appeared at legitimate houses here so often in past years that I imagined she was well known. From indications Monday I am very greatly mistaken. She received a very cool reception at both performances, her efforts were not applauded, and while the act is not a great one in any sense of the word, it surely deserved more applause than was given it. Miss Clayton's individual work is too well known for comment. The act is well dressed, the silk velour curtains and cyclorama are very handsome and the company of nine to be classed as fair. (Minneapolis) BIG CITY FOUR - - Street in 1, closing Palace in 2. 20 minutes. This act was the hit of the bill. (Cincinnati) APDALE'S ZOOLIGICAL CIRCUS - - Garden in 4 - The act is well known by every house on the circuit. As good as on previous visits. Held the audience and closed strong. (Toledo) PATHE'S WEEKLY
