REPORT ON COLUMBUS SHOW WEEK DEC. 8, 1913--W.W. PROSSER. MOTION PICTURE: O.K. GRACE DeMAR: Singing Comedienne. Good looking girl who did pretty well, particularly so for holding the opening spot. Her songs and talk were applauded moderately, and she scored a fairly strong finish. Olio in 1, 11 min. (Newark, N.J.) CARTMELL & HARRIS: Singing and dancing duo. Classy number of its kind which caught on from the beginning and went well throughout, finishing strong. Palace in 4, close in 1, 12 minutes. (Toledo) DOLAN & LENHARR: Presenting "The Wire Tappers". Good comedy sketch of the type this pair has been doing for years. quite a bit of laughter and a good strong finish. C.D.F. in 3, 23 minutes. (Indianapolis) O'NEAL & WAMSLEY: Two men, straight and comedy, presenting talk and songs. This act proved a good laugh getter. They have a lot of rediculous stuff which caught on first rate. Strong finish. Street in 1, 14 min. (Norfolk) GEORGE RENO & CO: In "The Misfit Army". This wellknown comedy number was a big laughing hit. Went well throughout and finished strong. Open in 1. Special in 3, 14 min. (Cincinnati) VIOLINSKY: Violinist and pianist. Made a Made a very favorable impression, taking several encores and finished strong. Olio in 1, 14 minutes. (Detroit) ORFORD'S ELEPHANTS: The best elephant act that has ever been here. An abundance of excellent feats very cleverly performed. The fastest animal act I have ever seen. They were a distinct hit, holding attention throughout and scoring a very strong finish. Garden in 5, 15 min. (Cincinnati) NOTE:----- By accident, George Reno and Orford's elephants were exchanged in places on the bill. The show went so well, however, I decided to let it remain as above.
