R. S. Robbins WASHINGTON SHOW February 9, 1914 BEN BEYER & BRO. 10 min. F.S. Cyclists, one in blackface, the other working straight. Good comedy and difficult stunts. Goes good. HALLEY & NOBLE 16 min. in one. Man and woman in chatter, song and dance. The talk is very ordinary stuff. Miss Noble sings and Halley dances fairly well. The makeup of Mr. Halley, a grotesque face with natty clothes, is repulsive and handicaps the act from the start. Little applause. ALBERT PERRY, MAUDE "In Reno & Return" 16 min. F.S. A clever and dainty little Hannaford & Co. comedy concerning an amiable divorce. A distinctively high class act scoring a decided hit. WALTER VAN BRUNT 16 min. in one. Lyric Tenor. Songs - ragtime, comedy and ballads.- Clever and beautiful - delightfully rendered. Mr. Van Brunt has a pleasing personality, and was the applause hit of the show. AMELIA STONE & ARMAND - "Mon De Sir" 31 min. in F.S. An opera bouffe with Kalisz & Co. prologue, concerning three young artists, and American girl and her spinster type chaperone in artistic and atmospheric setting of a Parisian studio. The music is especially tuneful and the comedy pretty good. Miss Stone shows to splendid advantage vocally and otherwise, wearing two beautiful gowns. She is excellently supported by Mr. Kalisz and Company. A very classy and enjoyable act and scoring a hit. INTERMISSION THE THREE MORIS 11 min. F.S. Japanese foot balancers and slack wire performers doing sensational feats, interspersed with genuine comedy. Beautiful costumes. This act scored a hit. WELLINGTON CROSS AND LOIS JOSEPHINE 20 min. in one. Plush drop. Singing and dancing in modern and character costumes. Both top-notch exponents of the best in musical comedy. Miss Josephine's dancing especially stands out. The act is a big hit. VOLANT 9 min. Special set. Novel and sensational spectacular illusion of a grand piano revolving at considerable speed in midair. Volant is a local boy and receives quite an advance hand. The act deservedly gets a big hand at finish. PATHE WEEKLY Interesting pictures. GENERAL REMARKS This show is an unusual combination of what is liked here and will undoubtedly do a big business.
