181 181 BIJOU THEATRE, WOONSOCKEY, R. I. REPORT OF SHOW MARCH 16, 1914. MR. & MRS. FREDERICK VOELKER & ASSOCIATE ARTISTS. In a musical comedietta. 22 minutes full stage, special set. Three women, three men. Excepting the introduction of one or two new numbers the act is precisely the same as when first played here and was even a greater success than at that time. Last night particularly the demonstration was little short of a possible ovation. The strikingly beautiful costume creations which is a new feature of the act were particularly pleasing and found great favor with the feminine portion of our audience. Last evening they took as many as ten or twelve curtains and even then the applause continued long after the lowering of the picture drop. The engagement is a most triumphant success. GRACE FISHER. Singing comedienne. 13 minutes in (1). Good act as single woman go in, as much as we rarely obtain a real good one. However she has a pleasing voice and her wardrobe displays some beautiful models. At rehearsal yesterday, I insisted upon her taking out what has been called objectionable, namely "I Don't Want To" and "Dancing Around", so that her performance is thereby relieve of any suggestiveness. Fair applause. CRAWFORD & MONTROSE. Singing and dancing and changes 7 minutes in (1). Two women. Fair act, nothing unusual and received very little applause. W. E. Parmenter manager BIJOU THEATRE, WOONSOCKET, R. I. REPORT OF SHOW MARCH 19, 1914. MYRTLE & DAISY. Singing comedienne. 12 minutes in (1). Rather weak act. Sing only fairly ad received scant applause. Costumes pretty and good to look upon. THIESSEN'S DOGS. 13 minutes, full stage, plush drop. Much of the line of kindred offerings. One or two new tricks with many of the old. Only trivial applause. THE OXFORD QUARTETTE. 15 minutes in (1). Only passably fair. The recollection of some real good quartettes is quite too vivid to permit of a kindly view of this offering on the whole. They have a few happy moments but they are decidedly few. The almost piteous attempts at comedy rob the act of whatever merit it might otherwise possess. Received only fair applause. W. E. Parmenter, Manager.
