PITTSBURGH, PA. GRAND OPERA HOUSE. MAR. 30, 1914. JESSIE KELLER & CO. Full stage, 11 minutes. A girl on a wheel and a tenor singer. A very commonplace act, the singing being particularly poor. LEONA STEPHENS. 12 minutes in One, plush curtains and picture drop. The hackneyed idea of showing an actress in her dressing room making changes of costume. Character songs. Miss Stephens has neither vocal quality nor particular talent to speak of. IMHOFF, CONN & CORENNE. 25 minutes, full stage. A military playlet, "Surgeon Louder, U.S.A." Roger Imhoff is a natural Irish comedian. His support is very poor, but the act is good and got a lot of substantial laughter, for which Mr. Imhoff, alone, is responsible. SAMMY BURNS and ALICE FULTON. 11 minutes, opening in One, closing full stage, Dancing. One of the best acts of its kind in vaudeville. CABARET TRIO. 17 minutes in One, with Piano. The playing of the blind pianist and the Spring Song melody were particularly good, otherwise the act is not up to par. LOUIS MANN & CO. 40 minutes, full stage, interior. "Elevating a Husband." A comedy drama. This is beyond cavil the most substantial dramatic hit we have ever played, barring none. It has caused more comment, and all favorable, than any other sketch or any act of any sort in our knowledge. Mr. Mann, nightly took eight to ten legitimate curtain calls. The act is big, showy, and finely presented; Mr. Mann's leading woman, Emily Ann Wellman, giving a particularly effective portrayal of the ambitious wife. DEIRO. 13 minutes in One. Piano accordionist. As big a hit as ever. TRAVILLA BROS. and SEAL 7 minutes, full stage. This is a repeat for us and is going very well. MOVING PICTURES. Several good comedies.
