R.S. Robbins WASHINGTON SHOW May 25, 1914 VANDINOFF & LOUIE 13 min. F.S. Paint pictures in oils speedily. Novel feature of painting picture on fast revolving wheel. Gets a good hand. "Little Cleo" [Gasceigne?] 13 min. in one. Petite Primi Donna with well chosen program of classical and semi-classical songs. Splendid voice and pleasing personality. Going very well. Liberal applause after each number. PRINCE FLORO 11 min. F.S. A remarkably intelligent Chimpanzee, wonderfully trained. Works seriously in a routine similar to Betty, and some new and different features. Gets big hand. RITA BOLAND & LOU HOLTE 17 min. in one. Singing and dancing. Much the same as when where in February with "Elsie Jamis Trio". With the new material and better position, going slightly better. Getting a fair amount of applause. FRANK KEENAN in "VINDICATION" 22 min. F.S. Mr. Keenan's work is great in his character of a fire eating old Southerner. The act is dramatic and engrossing working up to a splendid climax and affording the star unlimited opportunities. Mr. Keenan is most ably supported by Mac. M. Barnes. The act is a great big hit. INTERMISSION THE THREE ELLISONS 16 min. open in 1-1/2 closes F.S. 2 men and a woman. Unique and novel musical act elaborately staged. Xylophone playing with rustic setting comprising first part, a village blacksmith shop the second. Went very good. JAS. MULLEN & ALAN COOGAN 23 min. in one. Two natural cut-ups in hodge-podge of sheer nonsense, who get as many laughs as any similar act played here. One of the big hits of the show. ASAHI TROUPE 16 min. F.S. Beautiful Japanese setting. Remarkably clever magic and mystery and sensational juggling. Goes big. HEART-SELIG REVUE 16 min. Especially good reel this week. Suffragette parade and memorial of the 17 VeraCruz martyrs making this feature by no means the least interesting of the show.
