H.T. JORDAN PHILADELPHIA SHOW NOV. 20, 1916. PICTURES. 9 min. Fair. EADIE & RANSDEN. 13 min. "Charlie's Visit." Man and woman in a singing and talking skit. The man's comedy carries the act along with fair speed, his clever eccentric dancing and contortion work standing out as the feature for the few laughs the act received. Girl sings two songs and they closed with some dancing that brought a good hand. MURIEL WINDOW. 15 min. A collection of the best comedy songs we have heard for some time helped this girl to put over a good sized laughing and applause hit. She injects plenty of spirit into her work which caught on with the audience at once and each song brought her liberal applause. She finished to a very big hand. UNA CLAYTON & CO. "Collusion." 27 min. This is a very well written and well played little comedy sketch with a sentimental finish, one of the best Miss Clayton has presented in vaudeville. It got plenty of laughs and held strict attention. Finished to a good hand. REGAL & BENDER. 9 min. With two closing tricks these boys put over a big applause hit. The opening portion of their act discloses some hand-to-hand acrobatics during which they introduce comedy talk and their finishing tricks earned them enough to come back for several extra bows. WALTER SHANNON, MARIS ANNIS & CO. "The Garden of Love." 29 min. A very pleasing tabloid musical comedy. The dialogue is bright and the comedy arouses a liberal amount of laughs. There is a company of three male singers supporting the principals and they aid in introducing several catchy musical numbers which are well sung. The act made a very good impression and finished strong. BEATRICE HERFORD. Two of the three character studies introduced by this very clever artiste were new and all were received warmly by our audience. She is a favorite here and her offering was just as much appreciated as it was last season. CHARLES CARTMELL & LAURA HARRIS. 16 min. The new skit presented this season by this clever pair of dancers includes some splendid stepping. Three numbers with a couple of songs are introducedand their finish with an eccentric dance closed the act with a big round of applause. NAT GOODWIN. 19 min. This was his first appearance in Philadelphia in eight years and he was given a warm reception by a large house. His offering consisted of a routine of stories, some of them personal and not all of them new. He finished with the "Danny Deever" recitation which scored a bit hit for him. He closed to a big hand. CHARLIE AHEARN. 10 min. He has a new act built around a lot of the material used in the old one and it was just as big a riot of laughter as ever with the big race giving it a hurrah finish. In the closing spot was a big applause winner. GENERAL REMARKS. This proved to be a very good variety bill surrounding a big name act and with a change in the running order after the first performance rounded out an excellent show. CUT MURIEL WINDOW: Elimination of the word "hell" used in song. For the balance of the week the show will run as follows: - A Orchestra B Pictures C Eadie & Ramsden D Regal & Bender E Una Clayton F Beatrice Herford G Shannon, Annis & Co. H Nat Goodwin I Cartmell & Harris J Muriel Window K Charlie Ahearn L EXIT
