REPORT on PROVIDENCE SHOW, week of DECEMBER 4, 1916. CHARLES LOVENBERG, Manager. We have, this week, a very good, lively, vaudeville show. While it contains no names of importance, it plays exceedingly well, and I am inclined to believe it will give us a good week's business for this time of the year. Guerim & Newell Two men. Opens In One with a little eccentric dancing, followed to a Full Stage Chinese set and horizontal bars. Their dancing is fair; their bar work very good. Good opening act. 13 Minutes. Mack & Vincent Good little act for this spot, exceedingly well played. 16 Minutes In One. Meadowbook Lane" This act is rather disappointing. There is nothing particular to commend it in either the sketch or the playing. Moved up to this spot after the matinee. Does no harm on the bill, neither does it amount to anything. 19 Minutes Full Stage. Byal & Early Well known team with a new Scotch act which is no better than their former offering. Got lots of laughs but were hardly strong enough for the next to closing position, which they held at the matinee. I would not advise giving them any more money than I am paying them. 13 Minutes In One Isabelle D'Armond & Bobby O'Neil The act would be better billed "Bobby O'Neil & Company", for he is four-fifths of the act, which is a very good one. Decidedly worth playing anywhere. 19 Minutes Full Stage. Marion Weeks Miss Weeks repeated her former success, although she seemed to be a little hoarse. I question whether she is singing as well as last year and she seems to have lost some of her youthful freshness. 13 Minutes In One. Dugan & Raymond in "They Auto Know Better" One of the bit hits of the show. 17 Minutes Full Stage. Frank Crumit Another one of our big hits. 12 Minutes Full Stage. Charles Ahearn & Co. Went as well as usual. 10 Minutes Full Stage. CUTS Mack & Vincent Cut the entire Apple song Isabelle D'Amond & Co. Cut kicking of Miss D'Armond's skirt; all material about "When the babies were born"; and "Devils". "Meadowbrook Lane" Cut "What the Devil" Byal & Early Cut "The minister played me a dirty trick". Charles Ahearn & Co. Cut Thumbing of nose and throwing of articles into the audience. Dugan & Raymond Have the lady show not so much of her legs in coming down the ladder and falling out of the automobile, and omit reference to same. Cut "To Hell".
