BOSTON SHOW Week of December 4th '16. B. G. Larsen CLAIRMONT BROTHERS 6 minutes f.s. Special black cyclorama. A clean, fast act on the revolving ladder. Good opener. FLAVILLA 11 minutes in one. Olio Drop. Girl accordionist with white instrument and costume. Has a lively program of popular selections, uses her eyes to advantage, and went over very well. WILLIAM L. GIBSON and TEXAS GUINAN 20 minutes f.s. Close in one. Wood Set and Olio Drop. These people got quite a number of laughs with their automobile talk, introducing a real machine. When they got down to the singing in one, however, the act does not fare so well. WILLA HOLT WAKEFIELD 13 minutes in one. Special Drpaery. Miss Wakefield is doing a practically new repertoire this week, Monday afternoon she sang one of the rawest numbers we have heard in a long time. Monday night she replaced it with the old "Clothes Line" song. A hit. AL GERARD and SYLVIA CLARK 21 minutes in one. Olio Drop. A good, lively singing, dancing and comedy turn by a couple of clever entertainers. They ran second only to "Chic" Sale for the applause honors of the show. HERMINE SHONE and CO in "MARY ANN" 30 minutes f.s. Special Sets. Miss Shone has tried to give vaudeville "something different" in the way of a sketch, and she has succeeded. The act opens up a bit slowly, but gathers strength as it goes along, and finished to a strong hand. A good novelty in the way of sketches, extremely well-mounted and played. CHARLES (CHIC) SALE 26 minutes in one. Special Drops. Doing his new act, "The Sunday School Benefit Entertainment." Sale was nothing short of a riot. Put over the laughing and applause hit of the show. ROLAND TRAVERS and CO 10 minutes f.s. Special Drapery. Clean, fast magic and illusion act, with an attractive woman and two men. Made an excellent closer. JAMES J. MORTON 'announcing' all acts. Mr. Morton received a reception on his entrance Monday night. He got the laughs with his introductions, and proved a genuine novelty in the show. There is no question but what he created talk, and added a good deal to the enjoyment of the audience. CUTS GIBSON and GUINAN - Expression "bloody" - business of scratching leg by Miss Guinan - lines "You sleep in your room and I'll sleep in mine, you're not going bye-bye tonight" from number, "Put On Your Slippers" - expression "Young and Ambitious" WILLA HOLT WAKEFIELD - "Butcher-Baker-Candlestickmaker" song, which relates how the wife's baby resembled everyone except the husband. GERARD and CLARK - business of thumbing nose in Hawaiian dance.
