BOSTON SHOW REPORT WEEK of JANUARY 1st 1917. R. G. Larsen. THE McINTYRES 12 minutes f.s. Special cyclorama. Pistol and rifle shooting by man and woman, introducing disrobing of woman by shooting the cloak off her arms and shoulders. Most of the sunts got a hand. Good opener. MINNIE ALLEN 13 minutes in one. Special drop. Miss Allen is doing a couple of new numbers, along with her older material. Got by in this spot, and closed to a good hand with her new "Vampire of the Movies" number. BERT BAKER and CO in "The Prevaricator" 26 minutes f.s. C.D.F. This act was the hit of the show. One of the funniest comedies we have played in many a day. Could go further down. Kept the audience laughing every minute, and closed strong. RALLEN and HUNTER 15 minutes in one. Olio Drop. Girl violinist and comedian. The man has some good Irish stories and a couple of songs, while the woman's violin playing is pleasing. A good act. Got over first-rate. GENERAL ED LAVINE 11 minutes f.s. Special Set. Comedy juggler. This man does some finished work with the balls and hats, while his comedy stuff got a number of laughs. Went over well. PRIMROSE FOUR 15 minutes in one. Rotunda Drop. Wellknown quartette that scored their usual hit. BESSIE CLAYTON and COMPANY 22 minutes f.s., Special Set. Miss Clayton is assisted by two male dancers, while a dancing band of six musicians fill in the waits between the numbers, as well as playing for the dances. A high-class dancing turn. Went big. GENE GREENE and COMPANY 21 minutes in one. Special Drop. Two men. Rag-time songs in evening dress, with a change to blackface while pianist is playing a solo. Held this spot in great shape. DE PACE SEXTETTE 15 minutes in two. Special Set. Four men and two women in operatic and musical act in Italian costume and setting. A hard spot for an act of this character, but they got away with it pretty well. NO CUTS
